Oh, Passkeys. I like it.

Me too. I’ve been transitioning to passkeys also, my Yubikeys, although secure, are a PITA and can’t be firmware upgraded for new features.

Old firmware in 5C NFC keys has some sort of bug and I’ll not buy new keys every year @$50 each with a spare for backup.

My other fudgy wifi cameras hardware brand, lol, allows logging in with fingerprints, but it is not a passkey.

It amazes me how many features we get using Wyze, vs the Dark Side of the Electronic Security Association that’s owned by Private Equity firms, and are into nothing more than collecting monitoring fees etc. (lol, assumes Cam Unlimited for some features)

I really like the Wyze I have and when they finally have an official Home Assistant integration, hint,

It’ll be even better and give me the reasons to keep and buy even more products. I’m currently holding at about 14 devices, until I see effort on an integration that works. And eyeing Reolink POE throughout, if not.

I have the unofficial integration loaded. Mostly for bulbs.

2025 is coming up, Walk and chew gum and make it the year of whatever cameras and a Home Assistant integration.

This post is mostly about passkeys and security, so I proclaim it relevant. I could be wrong too. :joy:

  1. I believe this latest beta Wyze Android app 3.3.0.b596 has finally fixed the Cam V3 manual recording a clip issue which I mentioned below.
  1. Cam Plus Lite Person filter is still an issue on this latest beta Android app. When I press on it, it prompts me to subscribe as shown here. Last known Wyze Android app version to be working is 3.0.5.558. It is an Android only issue as Wyze iOS beta app 3.3.0 (2) confirmed to be working fine.

2025 is around the corner and another empty promise from Wyze :man_shrugging:

If were talking Pan V3 .b596 on Samsungs, I don’t know about other brands, there is still some strangeness and inconsistent recording.

If I open a Pan V3 to record;

I record a 10 second video per timer in app, it shows in the album in the Wyze app as 7 seconds etc. And is sometimes stuttering.

They also take a still shot and recording. In the app album, only a video shows up. In Gallery and Google photos it shows up as a still and a video.

I never really record manually very much but your post prompted me to look.

I dont know if it’s user repeatable, but I can repeat on my Samsung S24 Ultra.

I’ll have to do some rebooting and fiddling, I also can’t manually format the SD cards in Pan Cam V3s in the app. Still looking for more related bugs.

Does this beta include any fixes for potential notification problems? Asking as I am talking on discord a bout notification problems with my cam v3. the notification is being posted in the app but the notification never makes it to my phone…

currently on the newest version on the play store (non beta) andv3 is on latest firmware

My Cam Floodlight v2 hasn’t gotten the 4.53.7.1328 update. It is still on the previous 4.53.5.0199 beta firmware. What’s up with that?
