Wyze 3 Cam skipping 1 oe 2 seconds on uploaded video recordings and playack

I don’t see a log ID when I submit a log but my one camera a year old just started doing this.
I have 2 - V3’s and they each have different firmware :man_shrugging:

I had someone in my backyard snooping around the other day and they were only in the video for about two seconds and then poof. They were gone like a ghost disappearing, that doesn’t help if something goes missing and my camera doesn’t stay on long enough to identify the person

In the App, go into Accounts / Wyze Support / Log History. You should find the Log ID number.

I had to submit first then wait for an email with the log #

I have it now, thank you.

Yes, I tried that first. And that"s a good rule for troubleshooting devices, but this appears to be a firmware issue.

Experiencing the same issue - Log ID: 893216

Until this issue is properly fixed by Wyze, my temporary solution is that I created a rule to restart my cameras at midnight every night. This works for me, although other people have said that restarting the camera from the app didn’t fix the problem for them, they said they needed to physically power off the device and then power it back on.

Still not fixed.

What is wrong with this company?

As a software developer, I know for certain that such an important issue (i.e., bug) like this should never live beyond a couple of days at most - especially for security software. WTH.

It appears to me that this company’s software engineering team is lackluster at best.

Seriously, what’s the whole point of a security camera system if it can’t even record important events?

I think that it’s time for us to band together and pursue a viable remedy - even legally if we must. This company has sold us a defective product and lied to us. Didn’t you put your trust in this company?

BTW, I’ve submitted 8 logs over two months with no success. Isn’t that absurd?

Email me at jody@websitie.com and let’s figure out how to hold Wyze responsible.

I didn’t have much time over the weekend, but I did notice, that it appears that the live feed does indeed skip at the same time the cloud recording does. also appears that it happens on the SD card also, but also noticed at same time on SD card playback quality is really bad, then smooths out after few seconds. I will attempt to get u more info later. maybe few more logs.

Thanks for all the info everyone, it really helps!

Wyze is working on a firmware fix and I will let you know when it’s out. In the meantime, rebooting the cam should temporarily resolve this.

Thanks for your patience!

just a note of something else I’ve noticed. this skip at 5 sec appears to happen on the Pan V3 also, little harder to notice as I have motion tracking on, but it is there. And on the V2’s it is more noticeable, and my V2’s seam to have multiple skips on cloud clips. hope this is some help.

Edit:
Something I just noticed. seams to only skip on motion tags. when sound is tagged appears to play smooth.

I had really noticed it happening before, but now I see that all of my V2 cameras have the same skipping problem as the V3’s. :rage:

My v3 on firmware ending in .3406 has developed a slight skipping after being power cycled 6 days ago. The skipping is currently not as pronounced as before the power cycle. I will monitor the skipping a few days to see if it gets progressively worse.

Only one of my V3 cameras has this problem, start, pause, skip 2-4 seconds, jerky motion the rest of the recorded clip, same when viewing playback this camera has camplus subscrition, I have another V3 mounted next to the first so both are recording the same area, This camera does not have camplus subscription!, The motion on this camera is very smooth no jerks or pause then skip a few seconds. Both have the same firmware 4.36.10.3406. I have enter a submit log many times. This is very annoying and makes the recorded events almost useless for viewing. I tired to upload two events from both camera’s but new users cannot upload.

Here are a list of the log # I have submitted,918623, 906877, 899399, 897860.
This problem with start, pause, skip forward 2-5 seconds, jerky image the rest of the event. I would like to upload two videos of two V3 side by side that show the difference between one camera with camplus and the other without camplus service. both have same software version. New users cannot up load may some day I will be able to upload

Is today’s beta release toaddess this issue?

Version: 4.36.10.3836

What’s New:

  • Improved Event Video recording stability
  • Fixed a bug that caused Event Video frame drop

Here is more info from WyzeAndy.

Haven’t seen the issue surface thus far on the new firmware… Loaded yesterday (2/9)… :+1:

Please let us know if this is still the case after running 3 or 4 days without power cycling. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

updated all 8 of my V3 cams, updated without any issues. the 5 sec skip thing seams to be gone, playback from sd card seems smother also. will watch and see if it comes back.
