Why cant this app just work properly, its been crashing like crazy! Why cant the cameras work properly, every time i want to view them, i have to restart them!!! Im seriusly ready to start looking for different cameras through a different company!!!
Wyze app works fine for me.
I have Android as well.
Please provide more details.
I am not having an issue either.
Can you please provide the following:
- App Version
- Firmware version of the cameras having issues
- What Android OS you are using
- What router and provider you have.
Thanks
I have 4 tickets open on this as well… v4 livestreaming, loading forever, freezing for hours, unable to record from playback, v3 playback now jittery. All firmware & app updated to latest as of today. Logs included. #WhenWillThisBeFixed
I don’t understand it. My v4 and v3s work fine on the latest 3.1.5 app.
Please provide details as the above post by @spamoni suggests.
Android 14, 64bit OS, PLENTY of bandwidth,… 1+Gbs on all networks, viewing cameras from the same local network…NO PROBLEMS with v2.50, only after update to Wyze App 3.1.5.569 as of today, still the same issues. v4s on 4.52.8.0648 & v3s on 4.36.13.0416. Samsung 256GB in the v4s tested R/W @ 95MB/s.
Just to be clear, I’ve also taken the v3s offline and I get the same issues. v4 livestream loading taking forever, liveview one camera for all night only to wake up and it’s in a freezeframe from 6hrs ago, can’t record from sd playback, video rasterized when changing camera liveview. All after app 2.50 update. Please supply v2.5 for sideload so we can get back up and running. Basically the system is functionally bricked.
Seems we have equivalent systems. I have less bandwidth and use a s24 on Android 14. I use a TP-Link router.
Maybe submit the brand of your router and someone can home in on your issue. We have the same cams and firmware. Seems the only issue is the one you have with the new 3.1.5 app.
Hopefully someone has a better viewpoint than I do.
I’m on an AX5700 ASUS, using directional antennas with +10dB gain pointed at the cameras from less than 50ft away. I can monitor all the traffic, I have full throughput and no packets blocked by the firewall. It’s an app issue from where I’m sitting. The last known good configuration was v2.50 app.
Can you download and install 2.5 from APK mirror? Going back is definitely not a fix, but at least that was usable. Hopefully you can work with someone more knowledgeable than I to get 3.x working.
I am surprised someone hasn’t jumped into our conversation by now. Not sure when the heavys sleep.
Scanned the app link from there as well as submitted the apk bundle to virustotal. Results came back that there was some obfuscation in the the package so for security reasons I would advise not doing it.
I can understand your concern.
Was it APK Mirror or some other APK site? @carverofchoice had a good link.
Mirror, then I checked Pure but then there’s the issue of their installer integrity and unneccessary granted permissìons. I think the link had expired.
I wonder if @Crease has a good link. I saw him in another thread. APK mirror used to be reliable but there were so many ad links it became tricky.
Links are no bueno, even with a hash. Anyone can upload a file and generate a hash for it. It’s so easy even a caveman can do it.
There used to be a forum library. Wonder where that went? I only had to back-peddle once myself.
I see @Crease in the foyer.
Man, that jerk never has anything good!
I understand @plsreplyproperly’s caution about downloads from unofficial sources, and I don’t have a definitive response for that. We all get to make our own risk/benefit calculations and decide what amount and type of risk we’re willing to accept.
I personally don’t have strong reservations about using a site like APKMirror or APKPure, but I don’t fault those who might.
I wish we could resolve @plsreplyproperly s issue with 3.x. Seems we have equivalent hardware/firmware.
It would be nice to have a diagnostic tool and a good image library.
I think @peepeep had an interesting solution for people who don’t trust APKPure or APKMirror:
That works only if you’ve created your own previous backups in advance, though.
Interesting. I might need to do backups.
I thought I had several base apks extracted from previous installed versions. Unfortunately I can’t get it to go past the splash screen.
