Lots of people choose to pay for CPLite. They are suggesting (not forcing) people not waste their money having/paying for it if they don’t need it anymore and suggesting they cancel it if they already have unlimited. However, if you ever cancel unlimited, CPLite is still available to sign up for or use, even if you canceled it (which you don’t have to). I wouldn’t call that trying to kill Lite.
The old and new cams ALL work on Cam Unlimited…and unlimited includes everything Lite includes (12+ seconds of cloud, Person detection, plus a bunch of extra options. So you don’t lose anything from CPLite by using CUnlimited…and since you have unlimited licenses there doesn’t have to be situation with some getting the features and some not.
The only reason I can see for wanting to use Lite when you have unlimited is to FORCE a camera to have a short event and a cooldown instead of allowing it to record an entire event or possibly send notifications more often that every 5 minutes…for example, if you have bad internet or a bad router that can’t handle lots of upload bandwidth or too many cameras uploading an event constantly.
Again, I agree they should allow it, and I have don’t more to get them to agree to fix and restore this issue than anyone else…talking directly to employees about it, lobbying people to help get it onto Fix-it-Friday, etc…so again, I’m not fighting against this (quite the opposite)…just clarifying they have clearly stated they are NOT getting rid of it and they ARE going to continue to support it.
