Glad you posted this. I want the option to use CamPlus Unlimited OR CamPlus Lite. I don’t want Wyze making that choice for me. This kind of action might make me reconsider my CamPlus Unlimited subscription. Overpriced and wonky.
This kind of action might make me reconsider my CamPlus Unlimited subscription.
Me too. With the number of cameras I have, I don’t think it is overpriced.
But I only switched to it from the Cam Plus Lite pay-what-you-want last year, after making sure that I would still be able to pick and choose which cameras to assign to Cam Plus versus Cam Plus Lite. This change took away that ability.
I am surprised Wyze would want to force people with the Unlimited subscription to have Cam Plus applied to all their cameras, considering their talk about how costly cloud storage space and/or the AI processing is for them.
I can only hope that the upcoming “completely new service that will deliver an incredible experience” will include a way for us to manually configure the cool-down period and max recording length for each cam, if it doesn’t let us move them back to Cam Plus Lite.
I just submitted a log for this problem this morning. Same issues, trying to get back onto CamPlus Lite after doing a 1 month trial of CamPlus. Allows selection of cameras on Lite screen, but does not stay selected when returned to that screen.
Wyze acts like it doesn’t have an installed software base. They change major features without prior notice/intent.
Guess which plan I’m more likely to cancel…
Yup, you’re not the only one.
@WyzeJasonJ , @WyzeMatt - any update or response?
I have cameras that I’m no longer going to be using but in the app or online I cannot take them out of cam plus
I would think that deleting the cameras from the app, deletes them from Cam+, no? I’m in the same boat. I have cameras that I don’t use anymore but keep them in the app in case I need to replace a working camera. Keeping them in the app makes it easy to switch as I don’t have to register them again.
Yeah I don’t want to delete the cameras I just want to take them out of cam plus , also in the past if there was a problem with Cam Plus you could go and take a camera out then put it back in and get it working , now you can’t do that either
Here is an update from WyzeJasonJ in the Fix It Friday thread.
Bonus - Users are unable to switch cameras from Cam Plus to Cam Plus Lite
We are looking into these reports and could use some app logs to help us. Please submit a log and let me know the log number.
In the Wyze app, go to Account > Wyze Support > Submit a Log. Select your device from the dropdown menu. Then fill in the description box with the date, time, and time zone of the most recent time you noticed this issue and a description of what’s happening. Make sure the Send Logs option is selected and then submit your log. When you have the log number, please post it and tag me so I can get it to the right folks.
Old update. Also, as posted at #62 above, it seems that Wyze is trying to kill CamPlus Lite for those who subscribe to CamPlus or CamPlus Unlimited.
I don’t find CamPlus Unlimited particularly compelling, so, if pushed, I’ll keep CamPlus Lite at $0/month.
Just posting that within the past day, WyzeJasonJ is still requesting Logs. Hopefully, new people will also post Log numbers giving Wyze more info to resolve the bug
Difficult to post logs for an action not permitted by the app. You can’t even get a list of CamPlus Unlimited cameras.
Well, for the price of one years CamPlus Unlimited I can get two Amcrest cameras that do pretty much the same thing. Just add them to my other 9 and my Amcrest NVR.
If I cancel CamPlus Unlimited will I get back CamPlus LIte? Won’t need unlimited if I switch to Amcrest.
In theory, yes you should get it back. It may just involve contacting support to get it done while we are fixing the issues with it.
Exactly what is being fixed? The web site doesn’t work, the app doesn’t work. The web site implies you can’t have both Unlimited and Lite. So???
