Cam Plus Lite and V3 Cameras

I have had Cam Plus Lite since it first started under the “name your own price plan”. It is compatible with V1, V2 and V3 Cameras. Also since it is an “account” feature you did not need to opt in on every camera, it was automatic. It automatically cam up on every new V2 I installed over the years.

Issue: I picked up some V3’s last year to replace some on my 6+ year old V2’s. Finally had some time and got them set up yesterday. Not only is the “Person Detection” missing from the settings on those cameras but they no longer record the 12s videos every 5 minutes. They only show a “Still” image when “Motion” is detected. See attached picture.

The V2’s still have the setting for “Person Detection” and Motion, and record the 12s videos every 5 minutes. See attached picture.

What is going on? They said we would always have access to Cam Plus Lite as long as we never got rid of it, even after they stopped offering it for new owners.

Why is it only taking “stills”, not recording to the “cloud” and the “person detection” setting is gone under those V3 cameras?

Any help or information would be appreciated.


Are your new Cam v3s attached to your Cam Plus Lite subscription? You might need to log into the Web Portal to do that.

I seem to remember that I had to register every camera for Cam Plus Lite.

Looked at that before creating the post. Cam Plus Lite does not even show as a Service anymore under My Services. All that shows is the paid services you can sign up for.

Never had to in the past with the other cameras. It even mentions on the site no need to opt in each camera. Also as mentioned to Crease, Cam Plus Lite does not even show as a service anymore under My Services.

Can you post a screenshot of where you are seeing it under My Services? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for that additional detail. My Services is where I would expect to see it based on my experience with Cam Unlimited, but I’ve never subscribed to Cam Plus Lite and got my first Wyze Cam after that service became “legacy”. I can think of a couple of Cam Plus Lite users to @‍mention if @p2788deal doesn’t get you hooked up.

This was back when they first started Cam Plus Lite. I had to register each camera. Can’t remember the details now.

Edit: I have Cam Plus now. If I have to stop, I’d just go back to SD card “Continuous” recording. Lite’s cooldown is a dealbreaker for me.

No problem. I use 128GB High Endurance SD Cards. Those 12s cloud videos are not a big deal but they should be there. I want my “Person Detection” back for notification reasons. Not just some big bug that flys by the camera and creates Motion or a cat or dog that runs by that it detects as Motion.

Strange. It is suppose to show on Web Portal on Account > My Services.

Go on your Wyze app and select Account > Services > Right arrow on the top right > Other Services.

Cam Plus Lite should be there. Press the 3 dots next to it and press Manage Camera.

Make sure you are accessing your account through the web site. Here are couple of screen shots.

If you have multiple Wyze accounts with different email addresses, make sure you are logging into the account with Lite.

Other Wyze accounts Not grandfathered in to Lite will not see Lite as a option.

Using the app try the following:

  1. Go to accounts.
  2. Select services.
  3. In upper right corner select the right arrow with three vertical lines (hamburger).
  4. If your account has “Cam Plus Lite” it should show here.
  5. Select the three dots.
  6. Select “Manage Camera”
  7. This should give you a list of your available cameras.

I have 1 V2 and 4 V3 with two of the V3 having “Cam Plus” but the remaining cameras being selectable for "Lite.:

Dose not show as mentioned. Here is another screenshot of what it shows. It only shows services you can sign up for.

Thank you @grapefruityoda and @homanfankan. That was the solution. Even thought it does not show on my Account, Services Page on their webs site it does show in the app by clicking oh that “hamburger”.

I never noticed it. I figured it should just show up under Services as many others said in other posts and that is what their AI Chat kept saying. You are the first two that mentioned the hamburger.

Thanks again. I put together a set of screenshots as sometimes people like to see pictures. All new V3’s have now been added.

Thank you for taking the time to share an update and including images. I still think it’s weird that they don’t provide a unified management experience for purchased plans. My experience has been the opposite: I’m currently using a Cam Unlimited subscription, and when I navigate in the app to  Account ➜ Services ➜ ➜ Manage Subscription, I get a “Web plans can’t be managed in the Wyze app.” message that tells me to “visit the Wyze website to manage your subscription.” I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect to be able to manage the same subscription via the app or the Web site, but it’s good to be aware that there is a difference, and hopefully what you’ve posted will be helpful to others in the future who continue to use Cam Plus Lite. :+1:
