Weird V3 Pro 2k streaming problem, but time of day related only

Adding my name to the list. I’ve had the same daytime/nighttime 2k viewing issues described here.

I do need to make a correction of my previous statement of having NO streaming issues at all.

I have been watching closely lately and I do have the timestamp (in the lower right) skip a second about every 6 seconds or so on the livestream, but that happens both night and day. I am not experiencing a big difference in the night vs in the day as it happens during both times of day. I have not noticed a difference in this as long as the camera stays off nightvision mode (there is no skipping of a second in the timestamp when nightvision is on).

Apparently Night time, which I’m assuming is night vision, the frame rate is lower which probably explains no skipping for you with night vision on. Those of us with the day/night issue however, it doesn’t matter if night vision is forced on or off, day or night, it just doesn’t work during the day and works fine at night. So weird!

This is not related to the issue, I just want to add that the Wi-Fi strength in the “Device Info” always shows two out of three bars no matter how close or far the camera is from the router. I have pulled the camera and placed it beside the router, less than a foot and the signal shows two bars. I move the camera some 30 ft away and still shows two bars. I think the “Device Info” doesn’t even measure Wi-Fi strenght.

Adding my name to the list replaced Version 3 with Version 3 Pro, same location and wifi signal strength streams at SD but 2k very choppy

Ok. It is appears to be a signal strength issue. I replaced an outdoor battery camera with my V3Pro which is located 30 feet outside my window. My ASUS access point is right inside the window. While 30 feet away the 2K video live stream cuts out continuously throughout the day. I then moved the same camera 15 feet closer but still outside and it is streaming fine in 2K. I have another V3 (non pro) camera located 150 feet from this same access point and it streams perfectly. I will not be buying anymore V3Pro cameras.

Wyze offered me to leave a review of this camera. I did. A negative review. They reply with the usual crap of re start your camera, reset it. They provide a link for me to read their reply on the web page. The link is a bad link. LOL Just can’t make this stuff up.

But, me and many others say the live streaming works at night. It is during the day the live stream does not work.

They have a problem but they don’t seem to have the courage to come out and say it.
Very disappointed because I have been a big promoter of their cameras !
Distance may have something to do with it but I feel it’s more than that because I have another 2k camera from another manufacturer and it’s 3 to 4x further away and has no problem. Wyze obviously did not do their home work on this one before they released the camera. I think this will be going back unless they can create a fix.
Have all of you submitted a ticket through the Wyze app??
I did and I am waiting on an answer.
Stay tuned!!

We’ll see if anything changes with firmware updates. This thread is getting pretty large, and although it doesn’t happen that often, sometimes new product problem threads attract the attention of the Wyze product managers for that device.

With the V3 pro being so new, I expect mor people to eventually report this issue unless it gets fixed before widespread use.

I don’t know if anyone has spoken with Wyze support about this time-of-day problem. Personally, I’m not going to call them myself and go through the same basic script of reboot everything, check app and firmware versions for the latest, remove and re-add device, change location, etc. Many of us have been through all the versions of these cameras long enough to have done all of that and more before calling support anyway.

I’m not a v3Pro owner. I own 5 v3 (regular) ones and that is the extent of my money going into Wyze’s coffers. I own crap load of other IoT de4vices (non Wyze) and in my opinion the issue with Wyze is that they have a subpar Wi-Fi radios in all their cameras (at least starting with v3). Just my 2 cents

The funny thing is that the pro was marketed as having a more stable Wi-Fi connection due to an additional antenna.

I have the same issue. 2K stream freezes during the day. When its gets to be nighttime 2K works perfectly until the next morning. It has consistently done this for 2 days now. I have identified this issue to the V3 Pro Program Manager. Sent multiple logs. I Am sure they are working on this issue. Seems to me that it probably is a widespread issue. I Am waiting to hear something back on this……

Just started experiencing the same issue in reverse! :pensive: All v3 Pros were functioning great, day and night, until a little past sundown yesterday. 2K live streams started skipping time with occasional freezing. Cam restarts, powercycles, phone and tablets powercycled, entire network powercycled… couldn’t fix the issues. Tried viewing on 7 different devices to no avail. Shortly after sunrise, all v3 Pro cams started working fine with no action on my part. I know this is the opposite of the OP’s problem. Just thought I’d throw it out here. Will monitor and see what happens at sundown today and submit logs if problems resurface.

At least it used to stream well for you. This suggests there is something that can be done to resolve this. We’ll have to submit this in the next #fix-it-friday on November 2nd so that Wyze will tell us their action plan with updates on how the resolution is going. I’m sure a bunch of people in here will vote on it to make sure we can get some updates on how it’s going.

What’s weird is that mine are streaming 2K fine right now during daytime, which is the opposite problem as everyone else. It will be interesting to see what happens at sundown.

I saw a reference in one thread to people in different countries regarding a possible electrical frequency issue, but has anyone mapped where all the people with night issues are relative to day issues or no issues? Don’t see how it could be a Wyze/AWS server time issue, but…??

Such a great sentence. Makes me smile every time I read it. “Absurdly robust” is the only way to go…! :+1: :+1:
