Weird V3 Pro 2k streaming problem, but time of day related only

 Well, yeah that’s true, same as height, especially in fringe areas. But when well within the range sphere, it would be an unexpectable hardware issue if that was the case. Remember, we also had tests where covering the outside mounted camera with a black bag made it work as well.

Thank you, that’s good info to add to the list. It also confirms my suspicions that when it was well within range, the soffits, or extra wood in the wall wasn’t an issue.

I’m on the east coast as well. My cameras are starting to stream, still lagging and skipping at the moment but that clears up as it gets darker. Earlier in the day they weren’t streaming at all, just get an image of the last time there was movement.

More good info confirming light, thanks!. The antenna is actually 2 antennas in the pro, It’s a MIMO antenna specifically which is supposed to increase reception and data rates.

I am on the East Coast too and my camera is not streaming at all at 2K. It streams fine on SD.

Thank you all for all the info provided here. And special thanks to @BMICH for helping me with some testing. We do locate the issue and it is ios app related only. We are working on the fix right now. Once there is an ETA I will for sure post it here. Thank you all for your patience and understanding!

WOO HOO!!! :-))))) Thank you @WyzeDesmond

One question… Why did they go from 2K to SD and not to 1080 as second stream resolution?tia

How far are you from the router with your camera?

Thank you! @WyzeDesmond …Glad to hear you identified the issue :slightly_smiling_face:
I have to say, I’m really, really curious about what in a day and night could be OS related. Any info?

Yes thanks very much!

I was the first to notice the iOS pattern! 6 days prior. Totally called that one:

Interesting. Glad there is a fix being worked on right now! Thanks Desmond and everyone else for your great help in getting to the bottom of this so everyone can finally enjoy their 2K streaming soon!

My outdoor camera is 30 feet from the mesh access point. Only a window between.

Well aren’t you special hahaha

Same here, very interested.

Just to clarify, he said it was the iOS app, and not necessarily the OS itself:

So, it’s likely just something in the App code that doesn’t exist in the Android App version. Should make it fairly easy to find and fix though.
But I too would love to hear a better explanation about what has been going on, because the time of day thing is a really interesting phenomenon.

It’s definitely most prevalent on IOS, but at least in my case, the day night issue shows on Android as well, but to a lesser extent. However, my Android device are older, not high end or even on the newest last couple versions of Android. My guess is that the when the problem is fixed for IOS, it will also improve overall for Android as well.

You’ll have to let us know if you see a difference on your older Android tablet/devices when the iOS fix goes through then. That will be good to know.

Oh, of course!
My newest Android device is a Lenovo M10 FHD tablet that’s a couple years old and on Android 10. I think. That one works the best with the V3 Pro out of all my devices. I have an older Samsung tablet I use as one of my wall mounted displays, but that one is far worse.

It’s funny, It’s snowing here and with everything coated in white and the outside lights on, it’s pretty bright outside. Bright enough that the V3 Pro is staying in color vision and it’s streaming beautifully in 2K.

Whatever the issue, I’m finding it a pretty interesting problem to solve. Funny how even dull dark cloudy daytime fails if it’s still daylight. Here’s a couple pics with different lighting while streaming 2K tonight.
