View On PC/Browser (Windows / Mac / Chromebook)

I installed the Android Studio and am running the an Android VM via it’s Virtual Device Manager.

Very happy with it so far. I tried Bluestacks, and it got to a point where I made some change to the screen DPI, and even after an uninstall/reinstall, I could never get to run again.

This is the another great solution I have seen (please ignore my ignorance if I missed this earlier) never knew there was Android Studio…

thanks for sharing @CatHome

Will give it a try today

Forum mavens, this information is for general distribution to everyone who has or has ordered a Wyze product please re-post in any appropriate places.

I think as consumers, we all need to step back and take a look at the relationship we have with Wyze. I know myself I’ve invested a goodly sum of money in their products believing, in the beginning that they would follow through and fix problems that arose.

One of the biggest and I feel one of the most important complaints that people have expressed on the forums is the lack of response. This cannot continue and expect the company to grow and be viable you’ve got to talk. Communication is the key to success.

Unfortunately, through perusal of the forums I see that a majority of them are gripes about problems discovered, Detection settings not working, cameras not loading, User rules not working, no notification these are all things that I feel Wyze should have put on the front burner ahead of or at least on level with future development of products.

There are those in the forums that adamantly support Wyze as did I in the beginning but as you have heard said many times , “the proofs in the pudding”. So far, there’s been a lot of spoiled milk . The potential for greatness exists

To those who are in leadership roles at this company, I would behoove you to address these problems and answer emails and trouble request religiously. Being silent accomplishes nothing but furthering frustration of the users.

Sincerely, big_monkey

Another option is using Docker. I have it running a linux box and use a web page to rotate the stream since my cam3 is mounted 90 degrees for a narrow doorway view.

I have 7 cameras and they replaced them all, however, its the same buffer, buffer, buffer, on om android phone. I thought it was may router, but now seeing these emails its still the cameras. I would like to get in an any one who may want to start a class action suite.

When you emulated a phone on Android Studio, how did you get Google Play to let you install the Wyze App? Mine lets me navigate to the Wyze app, but there is no install option.

So I have been using Bluestacks instead, but I like the idea of using Android studio instead.
I know I could use APK mirror and sideload, but if you know how to get it to let me use Google Play instead, that would be very welcome.

I’ve thought about running Android Studio myself. Here’s a link describing how to add apps(apks).

Interesting, So I decided to just download the APK from APKMirror, and dragged it into the virtual phone and it installed it, then when I went into Google Play it recognized I had it installed and allowed me to “Update” it to the latest beta :man_shrugging: So at least that works.

Thanks

Thanks, yes.

I have had the Bluestacks emulator for a while, and it’s okay, but it’s mostly catered for Games and has an older OS version. I like the Android Studio emulation better as far as the Wyze app is concerned at least…well, except that I can’t seem to easily resize the phone/app. But otherwise, it is a pretty good way to emulate it. It will make it much easier for me to take and use parts of screenshots when I"m helping people in the forums, since I can do it all on my laptop more easily. Up to now I’ve mostly been taking a screenshot on my phone, upload it to Google photos, then open google photos on my laptop then take a screenshot of the piece I want, draw on it, then upload it to the forum to show someone what I"m talking about. This option will be so much more convenient. I can skip 75% of the steps I used to take. I like it…and I don’t have to worry [as much] about a Windows update breaking the functionality like the prior method. So far I like this one better for emulating the Wyze app. :+1:

I tried Bluestacks, and wasn’t happy with it.

I am able to grab a corner of the virtual android window and pull it down to the bottom of my screen to fill from top to bottom making it easier to see with my old eyes.

My go to for screen captures: Snagit, been using it for years. I’m sure there are other lower cost options, but this works well for me.

Wyze Web View for the week this has not been working for me.Neither cam will connect?I am LAN into router however if I use Wifi on same PC it is working?Any ideas is something blocking me? Oh events is working just NOT live view

This is so frustrating. I love my Wyze camera, but after a few months, it fails to load into my Edge browser. It still records “Events”, but will not let me view on Edge browser. I log in with my credentials, click the “recaptcha” icon, and refresh the name and password. Comes the spinner. Nothing. It will not load, so I can’t see what is making that noise in my front yard. I want my WYZE fixed so I can view. Very unhappy.

[Mod Note]: Post was moved to this topic for better visibility and consistency in grouping similar posts.

You did dl the nodpi apk at apkmirror, right? That one is supposedly resizeable. Though I wonder if updating it via Play breaks that.

I honestly didn’t pay close attention. I just went to the Akpmirror dot com/Wyze then scrolled to the first option I saw and downloaded that as I’m used to doing in the past.

Have a look here instead:

Just posting this for those wondering about the latest comments on this subject. Wyze’s VP of Product was asked for an update on this service and I thought I’d post his response here where it is relevant:

WOW1 A year and still in BETA? Three months before another update? Thanks for the update “carverofchoice”.

Is there a way to order the cams on web browser interface?
The order of cams in browser does not match my order in app? It should be the 2 outside followed by 3 in crawlspace.

Not that I know of, at least not a way to “Sort” them.

From what I can tell, it appears that they are default sorted in order of most recently added to the account (whether that be when you most recently activated them on the account, or had them shared to you from another account.

So, if you want them in a certain order, you currently would need to delete them all, then set them up in the order you want them to appear, with the first camera in the top left being the final one you activate.
