This started happening last night. Notifications not showing which camera or what type of event

@spamoni would you pass along my log number 2540561 since I’m not on Reddit?

CPL is still a subscription - try unbinding one of your cams from CPL, see if there is any difference?

For everyone this is happening to, are you all using Cam Plus Lite?

I have seen wonky things happening with Cam Plus Lite on and off over the last few months.

I didn’t find the Reddit thread about this issue, but I probably accidentally scanned past it. If someone wants to link me to it, I’d appreciate it. :+1:

Please follow up if this issue resolves before this upcoming Friday 9/4/26. If it is still actively an issue for multiple people by that date, I would like to make sure we get this submitted in the newly renewed “Fix It Friday” event that is coming back on that date so we can make sure this gets good attention from Wyze by then at the latest. But I think this is an obvious enough issue and not an isolated incident since it’s being reported by multiple people that they will likely update it before then. But it would be good to make sure.

I’m just trying to narrow down the cause to determine who it is happening to and who it isn’t and see what the commonalities are so they are more likely to fix it quickly.

Will do

I have Cam Plus Lite.

I unbinded one of the cams and then rebinded it per dave27’s suggestion, but there was no change.

I meant actually leave it disconnected from the subscription for a while and see if it starts working, to see if that is something to do with the issue. It doesn’t seem to be affecting anyone without a subscription (including free ones), but maybe just coincidence.

Hmm…interesting. Removed them from the subscription, then walked by each to trigger an event.

My tablet, which has v3.6.6(683), showed the notification details for all.

The phone, which has v2.50.9(512), would not show any notifications - unless the app was open. Didn’t have to be on the top screen, could just be open and running in the background.

Of course, since they’re not subscribed now, the event list just showed still images and no 12 second video clips.

Thanks. I know the employee gathering those logs, which implies it’s not intentional. If I had to guess, this will likely be resolved by Monday since it looks like an accident similar to others I saw in the past, but if it’s still ongoing up through Friday 9/4/26, let’s get this added to all the Fix-it-Friday threads because it’s a clear bug and a big deal that deserves priority.

On my android phone I have to keep the option enabled in the app for “running in background” and also set the battery use for wyze to “unlimited” in the android OS settings. Has not caused any excess battery usage and ensures all alerts come through. I’m in the habit of “swiping closed” apps when I’m done with them and I suspect that’s part of it, but even if left open, my phone will tend to snooze apps to save battery and memory. This prevents that.

So based on your test it appears to only affect subscriptions, which is why I’m not seeing it. As @carverofchoice mentions, I’m guessing they’ll have it fixed soon since it is affecting subscribers and they’re aware of it now.

I, too have been experiencing the same problem in the last couple of days. It may or may not be related to the latest app update on my iphone (updated version 3.20.0.20). I have Cam Lite and now only receive notifications for motion and not for person. I did not notify Wyze yet. I’m hoping if there are enough people mentioning this issue on this Forum for the company to notice and to rapidly remedy this problem and at the very least, to acknowledge it and post a possible ETA for a fix. I have an apple SE2 phone, V2 camera (everything is up to date) and have been a Wyze customer since 2017.

Same here - CamPlus Lite subscription, iPhone, v2 camera, latest firmware and app. Everything was working perfectly, for years, really, up until the last 2 days. All 12-second videos are saved in the cloud. They only appear on the phone app if I manually refresh recent events. I’m getting maybe 1 in 5 notifications of motion. Changing the motion/person settings does not help. I rebooted the phone, and the camera, multiple times. I also reset the service, multiple times.

The problem is not with me (or collectively us), it’s with Wyze. And they need to fix it.

Same here, at least update the service status and known issues.

Did you try ti restart?

Didn’t fix it, yes, restarted all of them, only happens to cam lite cams, not cam plus

Well this is happening on several friends and relatives Wyze cams mostly V3’s

Told them maybe it’s a good time to upgrade to a different brand  and be done with the Wyze clown show

[My issue, which was no notifications at all, seems to be resolving, or at least greatly improved. I’ve now received 3 notificiations in a row on motion, which is 3 more in a row than I received this morning.]

I wrote too soon - not resolved. Definitely a Cloud-to-App communication issue…

What a shame that this problem came up and apparently persists.

I don’t have notifications enabled when at home and now that I work from home, they are almost never enabled. With that said, this is another HUGE eye opener and reinforces the fact that WYZE devices should never be trusted or used for real time security needs. At any moment WYZE cams and apps may flake out and leave you in the lurch.

For true security needs, spend some money and go with a hard wired solution.

I’m receiving person detected notifications again.
