I have “20/40 MHz Coexistence” enabled.
Anything wrong with that?
I hear what you are saying and are welcome to your opinion. However, this is a community forum where we try to help each other. Wyze Staff appears here from time to time and provides additional information. I am not sure what comment you are expecting from Wyze, but the FW updates which addressed some connectivity issues are in beta, currently 1.2.4 (a2).
I am trying to provide constructive support to individuals who need or request it. I can only base my support on my experience and 38 years in IT. I can tell you without a doubt that the routers do make a difference in products, not only with Wyze. I have been through 3 router setups before settling on the ASUS ZenWifi XT8. These routers are rock solid and have cleared up some of the issues I was experiencing. So I try to find a solution, and if not, providing a log and getting a ticket helps to escalate and provide Wyze with something to look at.
Again, I appreciate your opinion, just don’t share the same sentiment. I am extremely happy with my Wyze Products.
Let me research that a bit and see if changing that could make a difference, I don’t think it will, but will verify for you.
Also, Can you submit a log of the latest issues and I will see if we can get this escalated for you.
EDIT
Just looked it up, you should be ok leaving it set. But that would be a good test to toggle it off and see if it does make a difference. So Test this by turning it off and selecting 40 Mhz. Here is an article I found:

Can either of you think of something else to try to help out with @oneilldm connectivity issue with the T-Stat. They are on the same version of the App and Firmware as I am. I don’t have the same issues so doing the basic troubleshooting to see if there is something to make it more stable.
I use WPA2 on channels 1, 6 , and 11 - I have 3 APs, it should connect to whatever’s strongest, like all the other smart devices I have - and the thermostat had no issues connecting until they pushed a firmware update last spring. With the old firmware, it stayed connected. Something in that firmware update broke the thermostat’s connectivity.
I recall that FW update, I believe they halted it. I am now at 1.2.4.a2 and have no connectivity issues. What version are you at?
Thanks for the response on this.
I am not familiar with other Mesh router setups as I am just starting to lean into my advance settings.
I use WPA\WPA2 Personal (bc I have stupid IoT that isn’t WPA3 compatible) on a OneMesh network with Beamforming, IPv6 and MU\MIMO and I turn QOS off w\ specific prioritization to critical devices.
But, my thermostat (FW 1.2.1) is also 12 feet from my router in direct line of sight.
Thanks. Maybe I am lucky (knock on wood). Mine has been rock solid on the latest FW.
I don’t have IPv6 on or QOS. ![]()
Currently running firmware version 1.2.1
I’m not on the beta channel, because if my thermostat stops functioning in the middle of the winter, it would cause tens of thousands of dollars in damages from frozen pipes. Even so, I’m tempted to install a second thermostat in parallel with the wyze, to act as a redundant fail safe thermostat, with all the bugs that have been present with this one.
So I turned off the "20/40 MHz Coexistence” … that did not help.
I did find something interesting though…
Working with the Router Software I decided to check Attached Devices…
The descriptions of some of the devices were not very good so I decided to clean it up.
I have a wireless HP printer that has been going offline randomly for years. I’ve tried to solve it but no luck… I even “Reserved” the IP Address.
Anyway, in the cleanup process I noticed that a Roku was taking the IP I had reserved for the printer when I turned on the TV.
Apparently, when you install a Roku it goes out and claims an IP Address and there is no way to change it.
So… I moved my printer to a new Address and I’m keeping my fingers crossed. ![]()
Well, it’s gone offline again.
I submitted Log 751075.
But my printer is still online! ![]()
I have 2 of these. One has worked perfectly. The other, very close to router, went offline for the first time after about 14 months. Tried everything and ended up having to delete the device and adding it back and setting it up again. Was fine for about 5 months until a firmware update came along. All that did was send it offline again. Ughh.
I really hate this new update. 1.2.4a2 really sucks. Now the Thermostat can’t stay online even a few hours. No way I will update my other thermostat with this firmware version. It has been working perfectly since I installed it almost 2 years ago.
I have two questions…
Is it possible to rollback a FW Update?
Is this forum just a community, self help forum? Does anyone from Wyze ever contribute to this forum?
That’s 3 questions, but you won’t be charged
extra for the third! ![]()
No. Since the Thermostat does not have an SD card slot to manually flash the Firmware, there is no possibility to manually downgrade the firmware once updated. The fix must come in a new firmware update pushed from Wyze.
Yes. This is a User Community Forum for exchanging of ideas, help, information, etc. It is primarily populated by Wyze Users.
Absolutely! The Wyze Community Managers are very active in the forum. The Software Developers also participate in the forum when there are issues being debugged or more information is needed from users to pin down specific software conflicts.
Update. Yesterday I deleted the thermostat and added it again. So far it is staying online after 24 hours.
Well my thermostat has stayed online for 10 days now…
I haven’t changed anything on my end.
Hope it continues! ![]()
Glad to hear it seems to be working now. Knock on Wood…
I just got a notification that there is a FW update (1.2.5) for my thermostat…
Should I push the button? ![]()
I got that also. I did the update and it installed without issues. I would say that it is your call. ![]()
I always do the updates as I beta test items and would like to be a head of the curve. I had not issues, I think you would be ok as well.
I am incurring the same problem with my thermostat.
It would be great to hear from Wyze whether this software update is intended to resolve this issue.
