It’s sad that such a thing would ever be necessary. Speaks volumes.
When can we expect a fix? I’ve reinstalled my old Carrier thermostat while I’m waiting.
Jason, we appreciate your reply and update, and you feel our pain. I know you can only provide what the tech team and corporate provide and it’s ashame they are providing minimal info at best. I can only imagine how frustrating that is for you.
FWIW, the thermostat is NOT bricked as in the right device with the right software combo well be able to reinstall and operate it.
That said, before this whole Wyze update debacle began about 2 weeks ago, I’ve never had an issue with any of my Wyze ecosystem (devices or app/updates) and I’ve been in it for 6+ years now. I own V2, V3 and V4 cams, plugs, light switches and the thermostat.
Many are coming in and saying their thermostat is toast which is not correct, it requires the app to both pair to your network and program to your preferences. It isn’t required to operate it once those two functions are completed. And unfortunately the app right now is what’s actually toast, not the thermostat which is stuck in pairing mode until the app is fixed to see it again.
That all said, it is quite disappointing and disturbing that the Wyze team rolled out an update that was clearly UNtested and broke what they are just hot fixed only days before. That is what Wyze corporate NEEDS to be updating it’s customers about if they even remotely care about them. WHAT was the cause and WHY an update was rolled out UNTESTED and just days after a hot fix update for the SAME issue was released. I cannot understand why Wyze corporate is not addressing this with US customers.
Having the same offline issue with Wyze Thermostat only. Phones are Android, too. Did all the suggested fixes and wish I hadn’t because now AC is offline completely. Before I just couldn’t access with app, so in a worse spot than pre-troubleshooting. Following for updates.
Update: used a MacBook to install Wyze app and reinstall Wyze Thermostat. No problems. Was able to reset temps and we are back in business. Android app still shows thermostat offline even though it’s now online and running.
I have Wyze app version 3.23.0.989 running on Pixel 9 Pro Adroind 17 and having the same issue
Hi there any update, are they close, did they find an issue??
Are they working this as a system critical issue, working the problem 24,x7 until resolved?
Is Wyze management involved?
40 degrees in Michigan tonight, it would be nice to have the product we purchased work.
Please provide an update hourly. The community would appreciate it.
Lack of of communication is unbelievable,
Update works, thanks Wyze
I have the same issue, also have a camera on the same WiFi which works just fine in the app. The Thermostat went off line about 4 days ago but I was still able to use it with manual controls (it was still showing that it is connected to my network when I scrolled through the settings with the manual controls, Yesterday I tried following all the troubleshooting steps to get it reconnected to the app, nothing worked. There was one thing left to do which was to reset the thermostat itself, I was afraid that if the app connection issue won’t work after the reset I won’t be able to use it at all. And this is exactly what happened, none of the trouble shooting steps worked and now I have a non-functional thermostat, can’t use it in manual mode either. I called tech support and sent the log files, support advised that “It’s a known issue” Gee thanks, that helps a lot while I can’t adjust heat/AC in my home at all now.
LOG ID#2605239 Android 16 Phone.
Update:
Tried to pair the Thermostat with my daughter’s older Iphone 14 and it worked, so at least for now I have the manual controls back on the device until the app issue is resolved, should have never done hard reset but that’s what Wyze suggests as the final support step
Too many days now with no fix. I try to love Wyze as we’ve bought a lot on the system but the cost savings doesn;t justify the shoddy software and issues like this. I’ll keep all my cameras for now but the thermostats suck so I guess I’m going to go Ecobee or Sensi (I already have 2 Sensi in another building, they are stable).
I had the same issue but was able to pair it with an Iphone so at least I have the manual controls back, Bring a friend with an Iphone and you can at least do that,
Yep it is with Androids. I have Android 16 on a Samsung s24+. My wife has a Samsung S24 on Android 16 and hers is fine. Tried hers several times and it is fine. I am lost on this. We both have the same phone update and both have the same Wyze app version.
Looks like Wyze just sent out Android Version 3.23.1.994
ok so I dug up my old Android 13 phone which has Wyze app version 3.23.0 (989) and can it connects to the Thermostat without issues, but it doesn’t on Android 16 phone with the same app version.
Looks like the stay of execution as been extended…working again after a week or more. Thanks for the fix, too bad it took so long.
I can confirm the last update, like today, is working. Whatever the snafus where, the Wyse team corrected. Too bad that the communication was terrible
. I am still trying to like and stick with this company, but… communication need badly an overhaul. I hope the top echelon is listening.
Fyi, im on Android 16 and the newest update 3.23.1.994 fix mine. It be nice to hear what Wyze did to accomplish this and hopefully no more issues moving forward.
5 days with no working thermostat was the final straw for me.im not having this happen again or worse in the dead of winter.i have lost track of how many times this has happened now anyways
At least this update they put the release notes of what the update is for/fixes…
I’m currently on the original hot fix release, v3 22.1.979 Do I spin the roulette wheel and update to this latest release from today? ![]()
I’ve honestly lost a lot of trust in Wyze over this…
The hotfix for this issue has been released. Updating the app should resolve it.
Thanks. I updated and it fixed the problem for me.
Finally! Thanks for the fix. Works on my Android 17 with the newest Wyze app hotfix.
