Service Advisory - 1/17/2024

Wow - What a dumpster fire of a firmware update. Same issue here as everyone else. Lost all 15 of our cameras. 6 of the 8 V3 cameras at our vacation house 1500 miles away finally came back online. FWIW - They seem to be comig up one by one after nearly an hour. Thank God, because it would have been impossible to reboot remotely. Had no choice but to leave them alone. Our local cameras are still offline. That said, since I rebooted the router a couple of times it almost seems that action throws you to the end of the line for their servers to “fix” you. Waiting it out is the best and only option at the moment. Fingers crossed that is all it will take. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE WYZE.

Same issue as the rest. All 5 of my V3 cameras are now showing offline after the firmware update. They all worked fine prior to this. I need these to function. Please fix this ASAP!

Same here, for now on I am ignoring all firmware updates forever. I stupidly assumed that internal testing occurred before a production deployment.

At my company a screw up this badly would already be rolled back.

This is affecting cameras on old firmware also, it does not look to be firmware-related. All the firmware was tested prior to release.

Good to know, timing is unfortunate then. Not sure if this is possible but an email, or an in app notification to let people know about this would work wonders for people like that tried to remove / re-add the device.

I have the same symptoms as firmware-16, for example I have two v3 cameras side by side and one of them insists on not finding the network

how to view live feed online? is that a paid service?

tested on 1 single cam in your lab?

You can only view the Live feed if you are subscribed to Cam Plus or Cam Protect

I have smart plugs for all my wyze cams since I know they will need rebooting often. I simple turn power off and on via my smart plug app. Non wyze smart plug is the best.

SAME issue here. Cameras can’t connect after 4.36.11.8391 (January 16, 2024) update. I chatted with ‘support’, went through all their diagnostics, and then they just passed the buck saying the engineers are working on it. All they have to do is push the older firmware version (4.36.11.7095) and rename it as a “NEWER” firmware version than (4.36.11.8391). The older version worked just fine. FIX THIS ISSUE WYZE.

It’s not a firmware issue.

The older firmware worked just fine UNTIL updated to the (4.36.11.8391) this morning.

They were tested in our beta areas, you can find some of the threads in the beta area of this forum.

Downgrading the camera using SD card does not work, so it’s not a firmware issue.

I am moving this thread to the Service Advisory post so everyone will get the updates as needed.

I’ve been having connectivity issues for a while and updated my firmware on all my V2 cams today and now they’re all offline with error 90. I can reboot them all from the app so it’s not a router/internet issue, they all have IP addresses. Finally found this post saying there is an outage today (or maybe just discovered today). Would love to see a resolution asap.

This is sad, some heads should roll this. Like a lot of people on here I think it’s time to ditch these cheap cameras and look for a more reliable solution, and will not be recommending this garbage anymore :unamused:
