Was the app broken? It was fine. I use SD card playback A LOT… is there a reason the timeline takes half the screen?? There were 30sec for/rev controls always available… now you have to touch the image to see them?? I need to hear sound… I leave the app running… go make a note on another app … come back and have to reset the mute to hear the sound again. Before, it stayed unmutted, the way I left it.

I agree with leave it alone. I pay a year in advance for a certain service and it was fine the way it was. How do I go back to the old app. This one sucks

Please bring the old controls back! This new layout is not at all useful. I use my cameras for bird watching and having to tap the video to bring up the controls is really unnecessary.
Exactly! You screwd it up. Old one had a calendar on SD playback… the new one is not steady to move the timeline… often jumps an hr or two without reason. Controls in the imagemakes it hard to jump 3, 4 or more 30sec jumps since the control has to be reactivated between each touch. The sound mute going away is a pain. When is someone from Wyze going to explain what they were trying to do… you broke a good thing.

I couldn’t agree more. The old layout was far better. Everything seems slower, and less convenient. When opening up the SD history, it takes longer to loadthe video, and the timeline scroll bar is far worse to use.
It’s so bad it makes me want to move to a different cam.
Please bring back the old ui.
I get the forward back controls need visibility.
My OGs, PAN V3s, V4s all accesss the SD card fast, within a second usually.
OG are slow in timeline scrolling and SD history is slow. Takes a while to find where I scrolled to.
However, V4s, and Pan V3s, are quite fast and a double tap of the timeline gets me a scroll at the seconds level, double tap to go back. Scroll is almost immediate, a second or two.
OGs don’t do that and is a PITA to use, that I can find anyhow.
For me, the controls back and forward 30 seconds doesn’t matter, “for my use only”.
But there’s plenty of room to make all those tap to see controls available right under the video or something.
V4 below with seconds and minute double tap.
Had the V4 been available when I purchased, I’d not have any OGs, other than the telephoto OG.
I agree, the new app SUCKS! You can’t scroll through videos, which goes against the basic function of ALL the other security camera apps out there.
Two years ago I bought two v3 cams as Christmas gifts for two different family friends. I promised to install them in their homes however 3 months went by without making the time to do so. During those 3 months I encountered so many issues with my own V3 cams that I had to let those two individuals know Wyze is simply an inferior product and they should just use their gift receipts to get cash back for the cameras, which they happily did.
Now that I’ve experienced this horrible app, I’m researching cameras once again to determine what I’m going to replace this lousy system with.

You can uninstall your app and try sideloading the Android 2.50.9.512 app from a mirror site like APKMirror. But you’ll run into security incompatibilities and major usability issues running that old app version with some Wyze cam models if your cam’s firmware is up to date. You also won’t be able to setup any of the latest Wyze products with that old version.
Wyze won’t be reverting to the old user interface. They are moving forward with the new interface per this Wishlist request: Wyze App - Uniform Live Stream and SD Playback user interface across all cam models
If more users had commented on and voted for this Wishlist topic, perhaps Wyze would have reconsidered revamping the user interface. A little too late now. Revert to old V3 Playback UI

If they don’t roll this back quick, I will never buy another wyze product!
They won’t be rolling back. I like the simplicity of the old UI better also, but the new one is growly on me… very slowly. I’m learning to live with the changes as I’m not willing to abandon Wyze or my investment. I still run the old 2.50.9.512 app on my Android 10 and 12 security monitors, but run the latest 3.8.x app for event details, add new devices, etc. on my Android 16 phones and tablets.
