Indoor AQI not graphing

Bith of my AP’s graph seem to be registering a 12am dot.

Well, the dots on my graph are still not showing correctly over 12am. On my graph the dot is directly over the “M” of 12am, so that is 1am.

I wonder if it partially depends where the first dot shows up based on the particular phone’s resolution.

Not that I would ask you to stay up until close to midnight, but if you do happen to be awake after 11:30pm or so one of these days, it might be interesting to post a screenshot of what is showing then so we can see/count if it is only doing 23 dots for the entire day or if it is still 24 dots and the alignment just needs tweaking.

Last night no dot showed at 12am , but then later today there is a dot at 12am. Seems to be hit and miss, so there is definately still something wrong.

Thanks. I know they have been working on it. It’s good to hear that it is currently showing up. Hopefully it was just something they had to adjust in the back-end and it should be resolved going forward. Let me know if you notice it happening again so we can pass that on to one of the devs. :+1:

As for no dot right at 12am, that is an interesting observation. Wyze might only update the dot at specific intervals so they aren’t needlessly overusing the server, at least if I were them I would limit it (ie: only post it 1-3 times per hour unless there is a big AQI change). So it doesn’t surprise me too much that it doesn’t show up right at 12:00am, but I am glad you pointed it out. It would be interesting for someone to test how often it does update the AQI. Maybe a few times per hour or only once a few minutes into the hour and then updated again only if there is a sudden AQI differential. IDK, but I would love to find out. If anyone tests it out, you should tag me with what you discovered trying to test it. I would certainly be interested in hearing your findings.

Well, it’s interesting that others were getting a dot at 12am, when I wasn’t. And then last night at Midnight mine again didn’t show a dot, but then hours later it did show one at Midnight. Seems all over the place, but I will try to watch it again tonight.

If you are a night owl like some of us and just happen to be awake after midnight anyway, maybe check throughout the hour and see when it actually starts showing the AQI. Maybe it doesn’t post the first dot until 15 or 30 minutes into the hour or something unless there is a significant AQI change causing it to push earlier. I am curious when the first measurement is normally polled. I will have to try to remember to do this myself and see if I can catch when it shows for the first time. You certainly raise an interesting question/idea.

I’m noticing that sometimes the dot appears on the hour and other times it might show up 15 minutes after the hour.

Interesting. Thanks for the follow-up. I wonder what makes a difference in when it does which.

I installed the new update to 1.0.14.1 , I am still getting the dots (android 2.38.1(161) . The notes say it was to fix AQI calculations. It appears to be higher than it was… but because you can’t get historical data, no way to prove it. Looking at the unit display (it is a few feet away from me in our tv room) it does appear to be running higher than it was. Still waiting to see if I get those big spikes to 200 for no apparent reason. Also as a note… I got the unit 12/20, Formaldehyde filter. The unit was running typically less than 10, filter is already down to 72%. At that pace, we will need a replacement in less than 3 months for an environment that is relatively clean. (I also have a Levoit 300S to compare it to)

welp… I’m back @carverofchoice. :raised_hand: I made it ~two weeks with AQI History, but the data has been nonexistent for a couple days now.

I know there has been an app update (or 2?) and possibly an air purifier firmware release… but I’ll admit I don’t remember specifics. I stopped paying close attention once the issue was fixed.

¯_(ツ)_/¯

You’re good on the firmware.

You are using the beta app, so it could be related to that. If so, we’ll want to report it. Everything is working fine for me on Android.

Let me call in some iOS reinforcements and see if any of them are seeing this issue with the 2.39.x app on iOS

@R.Good @spamoni @Seapup I know you guys use/have iOS, are usually running Beta, AND also have an air purifier. Are your AQI dots affected/missing in iOS on the 2.39 beta?

My apologies @carverofchoice. My air purifiers have not been in service given the work I have been doing around the house I cannot provide details at this time.

I currently have one on beta and the other on production FW.

Happy to pug them in and see what’s up over the next 24 hrs

Checked mine and in the latest iOS Beta ( 2.39.0 (b6) ) with the latest Firmware (1.0.14.1), I am getting the AQI Dots still.

Can you post a screenshot of your AQI graph (preferably before midnight, or wait until the next day)?
Are you getting any dots at all, ever, or they’re just all at the bottom or all the same?

bumping an old thread… @carverofchoice + all, I have never seen AQI History working and would love to hear ideas. dud unit? dud account? other?

Sorry to hear this doesn’t seem to be working for you. This should’ve been fixed a long time ago, so let’s test some stuff out just to make sure.

  • What is your Firmware version?
  • What is your app version?
  • What phone Model are you using?
  • How long have you had your air purifier?
  • Have you by chance ever contacted support?
  • Does your Air Purifier have any connection issues that you’ve noticed? Does the app seem to control it okay?
  • Anything else you can think of that might be relevant?

(the above answers can help with replication, and seeing if anything is known related to these factors or if there is another pattern that might be related)

If you have a humidifier, will you test moving the air purifier and the humidifier in the same small room for a little while and have the humidifier run for a while with the air purifier on turbo mode and see if that changes anything? Barring that, maybe bring it into the bathroom with you (or someone else) while you take a hot shower.

The reason I suggest that, is that the laser detects water vapor as a particle in the air and it will raise the AQI level for a while at least for that hour’s dot, all while not really wearing out the filter since water vapor doesn’t actually collect and clog it up or use it up. so it’s a safe way to test the AQI without wearing out your filter.

Also, sometime before midnight, but preferably in the evening one of these days, can you take a screenshot of what you are seeing on the graphing screen? (I say to do this later in the day so that we know it should be showing more than a dozen different dots.

I think the above is a good starting point for now.

What I’m hoping is that the water vapor test will force the Air purifier to show a change in AQI. If it does that, then it might be indicating that you simply have really consistent, clean air, so normally there isn’t a change, but if we force a change and it reacts on the graph, it might indicate that you have nothing to worry about. However, if the air purifier hardware says the AQI is getting high for a long period of time but the app still doesn’t move, then we are almost assuredly dealing with some rare bug and we’ll go from there. You might need to contact support first, or we might be able to pass a log on to one of the devs. It kind of depends. We’ll see what options we have.

As a test, I graphed the pm2.5 from my IKEA VINDSTRYKA air quality monitor and compared it to the Wyze air purifier pm2.5

This is the Wyze

This is the IKEA

The spike around 5pm is when my wife was making supper.
