We have some firmware updates rolling out. Here are the details.
Wyze Cam v4 and Wyze Cam Pan v3 both include important security improvements . To receive these updates, you must be using Wyze app version 3.8.5 or higher . After updating the firmware, app versions earlier than 3.8.5 will no longer be able to connect to these cameras. These updates will be releasing gradually, so if you don’t see them right away please be patient.
We also have an update for Wyze Window Cam that fixes a bug which caused the device to freeze.
It is most likely being throttled by MAC ID. I.e., if you have multiple v4s, you may have only 1, a few, all or none eligible to update to this firmware version at this time.
Your probably right. What was interesting is when I first looked at the Firmware Update page all 5 were eligible. I was tempted but decided to slow boat.
All four of my V4 cams had the .4188 available for update yesterday also. I closed my eyes and updated to see if they would still work. No cloud videos were recorded after up date on any of my four V4 in busy areas? I just hit the reset services tab to see if I can get it to work again. I also powered cycled all our cams and will have to go out and test them. All my other WCO and V3 cams recorded cloud events.
Test: I had to restart all four V4 cams again. All cams are now recording cloud events again.
I recently upgraded all my wyze cam v4 to the latest firmware v4.52.9.5332 and the wyze iphone app v3.9.1 is struggling to connect on the home dashboard on favorites. I have a total of 17 wyze cam v4 in my home and a handful struggle to connect to LIVE.
some of the camera shows balls bouncing and eventually Failed to connect with error: (code -20,011)
I never had any problems with the old firmware. anyone having the same issue as me?
[Mod Note]:Your topic was merged to this Wyze News announcement topic for better visibility to Wyze.
Updated 2 of my 4 V4 yesterday to 4.52.9. 5332. They take around 30 seconds to load when they decide to do it on iOS and Android. I will wait before updating my others V4. Before this update, they were the fastest, They took around 2-3 seconds.
I updated all four of my V4 cams to .5332 and they still load live view in 2-3 seconds and still record all events without issue on iPhone and iPad. I did have a lot of issues of no cloud events when I updated to ,4188 a month ago but I fixed the issue by turning the power to all cams off then on again.
I replaced six V2 cams during the holidays with V4s and now have eight V4s and a mix of other cam versions. Live view worked fine until fw 4.52.9.5332 was applied and now have same issues noted by others with regards to Live View connections not initializing and timing out. Other V2, V3 and OG cams have no issues. May need to roll the firmware back for the V4s.
Of course , issued restart from the app and also tried power cycling them.
As I write this, 5 of the 8 cams are working fine where the other 3 are alternating between code -200011 (can’t establish or keep a connection) and code -14 (connection exists, but authentication or session setup fails).
The issues above are alternating between the eight v4 cameras, Now all eight are not connecting but all other cams (diff versions) are rock solid auth, stream, etc.
It has been my experience that restart from the app doesn’t do much, it just puts the camera to sleep/wake cycle. Power cycling it from the plug forces the camera to re establish new connection and maybe a new IP address.
