I borrowed one from a friend and got it to successfully add… HOWEVER…. it didn’t do me any good. As even though my OG cams are now showing as added, they don’t ring when the doorbell is pressed. Tried on multiple OG’s, no difference, so I believe it’s an OG issue and not just isolated to my camera itself. So disappointing and frustrating. I bought an extra OG just for the purpose of using it as a chime, since Alexa stopped chiming as well, so all I did was waste money as I’m still sitting in silence when someone rings the doorbell.
I don’t share the same opinion, as I expressed in a related topic, because that hasn’t been my particular experience, but clearly this feature has some ongoing issues, and I appreciate your sharing the update in the other topic.
I also cannot add wyze OG as a doorbell chime on iPhone: WYZE please fix this asap, not everyone has android devices laying around.
I have the same problem - I have just installed a Wyze Doorbell v2 and updated to the latest firmware after about 4 updates. I have three existing Wyze OG cameras, all with the latest firmware. And I have updated my Android app to the latest version v3.0.0 (519)
Now when I try to setup the “Camera as Chime” feature on the Doorbell v2, the app very briefly displays a list of my three OG’s and then returns to the main Chime setup screen plus a little popup message saying “FAIL” with no explanation.
This advertised feature of using the cameras as the doorbell chime simply does not work at all. Please ensure this is fixed!
It does work, but the user experience is inconsistent at best. I have a Cam Pan v3 that still chimes even when it isn’t supposed to, and I documented and demonstrated in a video last month that the app will sometimes report cameras selected for this feature even when none actually are. This feature clearly still has a lot of problems, and I believe that’s why the “Cameras as Chime” Help Center article was recently amended to remove previous references to extending that feature “soon”.
This is happening to me too. It just backs to the previous screen and said Fail lol. I can see my v2 pan cam in the list!!

Yeah, I am in the same situation as tanner - I have submitted logs and screen grabs to Wyze support and they are investigating. It will be fixed when it is fixed.
My OG’s are now eventually working for the “camera as chime” function with Android app v3.1.5 (569)
