Does Cam Plus work with the new outdoor cameras?
No. WYZE says they are working on it.
Welcome to the forum.
Well at least the Where Are My Masks threads have transitioned to the Where Is My WCO threads in time for CamPlus to kick in. The doorbell should be a blast.
Nice one help me, I didn’t know you visited there
Also, why doesn’t Customer Service respond or why don’t they answer on Saturday.
WyzeGwendolyn, You state that the rate beginning in August 2021 will increase from $1.49 to $1.99 per camera for Cam Plus. I am being offered $1.99?? I have had my 5 cameras for 18 months so I’m not new. Why am I not being offered the $1.49 rate??
The lower rate applies only to those who are / were ALREADY paying $1.49/month/camera for the previous CMC feature. Were you?
No, I was not being charged.
…sorry so I guess the discount doesn’t apply.
Understand the rate issue now.
Another question; I had to start a new account to edit / add my new email address. It started me on a 2 week free Cam Plus trial. If I get the account set up for the Cam Plus subscription before the trial period end, will my billing date start immediately or after my free trial ends?
I have no idea. I suppose you could ask customer service or @UserCustomerGwen.
I’m pretty sure your billing date will start immediately the date you set up your subscription, when you agree to a subscription you pay for it that day
Ok thanks. I’ll just wait.
The reason is, you could have the purchased Cam Plus subscription on one camera and the trial on another.
So, if I have a 32 Gb MicroSD in each of the cameras, does that mean it won’t do complete motion capture locally - even if I don’t pay for the cloud CMC Plus?
And, I have been using person detection since I first got onboard, which looks to be before Oct, 2019.
OK, I may be a rat deserting a sinking ship but comes a time to jump to another solution, call it XYZ , and write off whatever “investment “ in Wyze cam V2. At around $20.00 a pop, or , in my case $40.00 Canadian, technology is always moving on and with adding a subscription fee a solution with better features and no additional cost, and particularly none of the unreliability and confusion of “do I have this or not” exemplified by this thread made it a no brainer for me. Angus, I know you will protest and defend but consider that many people “invest” in flagship phones that are outdated in six months. The V2 was great while it lasted, 400 replies in another thread wanted to buy it direct along with other Wyze products, never happened, never will. Good luck to all those struggling to get this to work. Time to move forward IMHO.
Why would I protest? I don’t have any stake in WYZE.
If you bought V2 cameras with anything in mind other than viewing them then you were mislead. I don’t get the phone analogy.
WYZE is digging their own grave with this CAM Plus, Person Detection, subscription crap. It doesn’t work well enough to charge for and customer suopport is non-existant. When you’re paying a subscription fee you expect support.
Good Lord Angus, is that really you?? The former Wyze supporting Archangel?? Well, as for me, I am in total agreement with you and, I hold the same beliefs…
I’ve never supported the dumb crap WYZE does. Mainly the goofy doftwsre development. It’s like 90s sharewsre with no real path.
The cameras are great for the money. The rest of the hardware is frivolous junk that already existed beford WYZE cloned them. Bulbs, scales, sensors…
The problems people have with WYZE seem to be caused by not understanding the limitations of the hardware / software. Part of that is caused by WYZE hype and PR.
lol Bluiis48, you are no “rat deserting a sinking ship”, you are a smart cat that knows better than to set sail on a voyage when the ship is not seaworthy! I am not far behind you but only learned after signing up for an annual plan that the motion detection only works about 50% of the time and local continuous recorded playback is useless since it only plays real time. Oh well… perhaps they will improve, but i highly doubt it. This is most definitely not a ‘security’ camera. It’s clever, fun, cheap, but completely unreliable and useless to me because it often fails to detect movement on my multiple cameras.
