CMC Refund with Cam Plus Transition - 7/29/20

the microsd card in the V2 is used for local storage. you still have the option to make it continuous recording or when motion is detected (and since motion is often missed you would be well advised to set it to continuous recording). this is separate than the cloud storage that is part of the subscription plan. the biggest problem is that thought you may record an event it is impossible to find it quickly as play back is only in real time, not 2x, 4x, 8x or faster… so good luck with that.

Yeah… depends in if I get an alert for a detection, I can then scroll back on rhe SD card… but yeah, its a crapshoot

Early customers have been grandfathered and person detection is still free.

Technically it is pay what you want and you could choose to pay nothing, but if everyone pays nothing it could result in them changing that also. (My fear at least)

You gotta wonder how that will go down customer service wise if and when they do that. We’ll get a preview of that in a week or so when the post-11/19 folks will find they no longer even have free PD options. The sleaziness with which they have forced the CamPlus trial doesn’t give me a whole lot of optimism.

I just cancelled my Cam Plus. I’m not going to pay $60 a year on a service that sets off Person Detection when a lamp is turned on (remotely even from a different room), the waving branches their email states no longer sets off and the constant never ending missing fragment error. By the time I go through all of that I could just look at playback on my SD cards or watch the timelapse videos.

I really think Wyze is going to lose money on this.

So I haven’t had a single issue since cancelling Cam Plus. I’m also doing away with recording to the cloud and just do it all to my SD card. We never leave the house and the only thing that will take off with these cams if possible is a raccoon so it’s kind of silly to have this service. I just do event recording on the card and look through those like I would have on the cloud.

The cloud recordings are handy to just let you know when there was motion.
I don’t use notifications though.

So I have gone through this entire thread but I had to do it quickly so I apologize if this has already been mentioned or discussed.
If you use Amazon Echos then person detection will become a bit more important to you as they offer it for Wyze now and I’m guessing if you don’t have PD subscription, it won’t work. Could be totally wrong here but just makes sense. I personally enjoy this new feature with my Echo devices because I’m deaf in one ear so having Alexa tell me someone is at the door is helpful, albeit a bit annoying at busy times. :blush:

Interested in any rational thoughts about this and the new subscription.

It has been talked about in a couple of other threads. Yes, it requires a Person Detection subscription.

The forum says you’ve been here since 2/19. If your Wyze account is from around the same time then you’re entitled to free / name your price Person Detection in perpetuity.

So seriously? Since I cancelled Cam Plus I’m not getting notifications at all on even the 12 second events with the 5 minute cool off? Is this a way of punishing me? I have never had so many problems as I have had since you switched to Cam Plus. Now it’s 50 issues a day.

For the record, the cams that never were on cam plus I still get notifications on. And these cams were all set up with Wyze last year.

I have 3 V1 cameras and 2 V2 cameras and 1 pan camera and 3 outside cameras, can I pay a single fee for the service? Will the V1 cameras be able to use the person detection? Is person detection only for V2 cameras?

Person detection hasn’t been working for many days now, maybe weeks, even though I subscribed to Cam Plus. It was working before. What’s going on?

I have 2 Cam Pans and decided to pay for Cam Plus on only 1 to see how well it works. The person detection works sporadically. I can walk by and it doesn’t record anything. I have theses for security but don’t have much confidence lately after reading all these post.
