Cannot view sd card footage on floodlight pro

I have two flood light pros with the same issue as well

Throwing my name into the pile of sightings and issues. My camera now has big lapses when it does not record anything for several hours and also smaller gaps (less than an hour) during certain days. If i try to pull video from it then it freezes and gives me the error listed by everyone else. Quite annoying.

I have noticed the same issue of random periods with no recordings, when I know for a fact there was multiple events in front of the camera. My v4 is pointed in roughly the same direction, so I know that a person or pet has walked in front of my floodlight pro, but it didn’t record it. My sensitivity is set to 95. I’ve noticed if it is set to full sensitivity it will bypass my notification selections and just notify me of everything.

Speaking of notifications… The floodlight pro keeps turning on event notifications that I do not want to notified of. I have turned off vehicle notifications but still have it record. This seems to confuse the camera fairly often and decides I need the notification too.

I’m another Floodlight Pro user getting the “Failed to load the SD Card event” in my Wyze app.

I am seeing “No video available at this time” when trying to view SD Card on all three of my Floodlight Pro, the V3 cameras are working normally.

I’m on the same WiFi network and trying to view video from just minutes earlier or hours earlier, but same message.

My Floodlight Pro’s have Wyze branded 128GB or 256GB SD cards and are all running FW 2.2.1168. I’m running iOS Wyze app v3.2.7.1 w/ iPhone 13 and iOS 18.1.1

I noticed it the other day when I needed to go back to look for the point where a package was delivered by found I couldn’t view (and it wasn’t recorded as an event in cloud because I get so many false positives that I have it turned off).

I tried the format SD card option on one camera but it still didn’t work after that (and no errors or other warnings from the app about formatting).

Today I tried to power cycle two of the cameras with the wall switch and they did start to work. On the 3rd camera I used ‘Restart Camera’ via app and it’s also working now.

It’s extremely frustrating because how can I know if the cameras have decided to just stop working for recording?

I’m lucky that noticed this over something trivial like delivery time, and not something more serious like an intruder, accident, etc… the floodlight pro’s aren’t cheap, I expect them to work more reliably than they have.

I’m starting to think Wyze might want to add a ‘scheduled reboot’ option into their cameras if they aren’t stable long term – my Amcrest NVR has the option to do daily/weekly restarts, as does my Blackvue dash camera… For now I can automate my own restart with Z-Wave wall switches and my alarm panel.

@ethanms - I believe this will be a temporary fix only, and that the problem will return within 24-36 hours. If not too much trouble, could you please respond back here in the next couple of days and advise if the problem returned?

Also throwing my name in here with the same SD card/recording/retrieving issues. All since last firmware update.

In a work around till they fix the issue I made a schedule that restarts the floodlight camera every morning @ 6:30. So far it is working and I am able to review SD card video. Hope they figure it out though.

Coming from a different forum entry we just realized the Floodlight Pro FW in our cameras was downgraded to the March release even though we had upgraded it to the November release. So you may want to check back disabling any changes you did to the camera/automation/reboots since it seems we are all now running the original stable March release.

Hey all, there is a new Beta firmware that may resolve this issue:

I’m installing it right now on the one I have that’s not working.

I’m happy to report that after installing this firmware, the SD card footage started showing up on the FLPro that it was hidden on. The other 5 FLPros I had were already showing the SD card footage, but I will still install this beta firmware on some of them too just to make sure it’s safe for them to launch publicly.

And then someone would slip in an additional, untested “fix” like what happened the last time.

The issue hasn’t returned for me in 14 days – I’ve checked SD card video several times over that span – I haven’t changed any settings, haven’t intentionally restarted, or changed firmware.

So, in my case at least, it’s possible this was a one time glitch or requires something else to go wrong to create the issue (which apparently would have had to happen to all FLPro cameras).
