Cannot view sd card footage on floodlight pro

The odd thing is that the last step of every firmware update already forces a camera to reboot with the new firmware, so it’s just weird that rebooting it a second time makes a difference, but sometimes it does, so it’s a good habit.

I’m throwing my hat in for the same problem. When I click on the SD icon, it says Cannot access SD Card. Failed to load SD card. Please try again. I’ve tried several times and rebooted the device twice with no avil.

@krr1975 Any details?

  • Hardware?
  • Firmware?
  • Start date?
  • Rebooted all your equipment? Routers and Cams?
  • SD card? Original or you purchased? Checked in other devices? Tested another SD card?

Hi there,

It’s a V2 Floodight and up to date on firmware. I’m not sure when the problem started as I just discovered it yesterday. In the past it’s told me it can’t access the SD card but when I tried again it worked. Not yesterday. I rebooted the cam multiple times and even took out the SD card. I’ve had this cam and card since January of last year and haven’t changed anything since then. I thought I had it fixed last night after taking out the SD card but nope. By then it was dark and now I’m back at work. When I get home tonight, I’m going to try to format the SD card in another camera and I will reboot my router as well to see if that fixes it. I don’t have another SD card available. If that doesn’t work, I may delete the camera and reinstall it to see if that fixes it. If not, I’ll have to get another SD card to try. Such a pain!

I came home and took another SD card out of an inside camera and put it in floodlight and it worked. About an hour later I tried to access it and got the “cannot access SD card” message. But when I click try again, it works.

The SD card I took out of the floodlight camera could not be formatted in another camera. I also tried to format it in a car camera I have and it wouldn’t format it either. So the card is now bad.

What this caused by an update, I don’t know. But there is definitely a bug when I click on the SD icon on the floodlight cam and it tells me it can’t access it.

You might be able to fix it by putting it in a computer and running a scandisk on it to fix any bad sectors.

Thank you! I’ll try that

Yes. Try chkdsk /f /r X: for the disk

Then go into Disk Management. Delete the partition, format quick, or if no difference, untick quick and perform format again.
What file system are you using for the SD card??
Not working?
Try formatting in a dashcam, mobile, tablet or other security device.
