Related to solutions, Yes and no.
For one thing, lots of users never mark solution to a thread.
For another, itās common for a user to mark their own later response as the solution even though it was actually someone else who gave the idea of how to resolve their question/issue, or another post that is actually more helpful.
Some solutions arenāt really solutions but are actually used to make sure it shows up attached to the original post.
For the most part, people generally donāt get a lot of āsolutionsā without actually being really active and helpful and quickly responding to a ton of people with helpful comments by answering questions or offering suggestions. So the metric is generally fairly proportionally accurate to indicate who generally responds quickly with helpful information. But it is very quantitatively imprecise, and partially subjective. However, you will notice some level of correlation between it and other measurements of activity (how many posts they read, replies they make, likes they receive, etc). Though there are many things that skew these markersā¦there are some basic general correlations.
I am not claiming my first post on the Wyze forum was good or the best. I was replying to another user who was experiencing jittery Cloud video playback. I thought you might enjoy seeing a screenshot of the thread from November 2022.
Yes, this forum did seem promising. I bought my first v3 camera in January 2022. I join this forum in November 2022 because I was experiencing jittery Cloud video playback.
I found out other users had the jittery video bug and I believe it was communicated that Wyze knew about the problem and would fix it in future firmware releases.
I stick around this forum because I enjoy the other members and I try to help users that have questions I like I did back in 2022. Yes, I still have Wyze questions, but there seems to be fewer questions the longer you use Wyze equipment.
I totally agree with the above. I remember when I first came to the forum, my questions and posts were mostly bitchy in nature. I was blaming Wyze for everything. That stopped when I upgraded my seven year old router
Not sure, I remember the Discourse debut, and it seems like I was there very briefly before that, but I donāt recall its character.
People were excitedly sharing their hacks and adapts and were plenty playful and tolerant of shortcomings probably because it debuted not as a security cam but one to help ākeep an eye on things.ā
They nod-winked security but didnāt own it formally for what seems like a couple of years.
From the outset, though, there were people trying to nail things down technically and functionally and getting frustrated and impatient with the shortfalls.
Plus, there were regular troll threads that were allowed full voice indefinitely. At one point a couple of years in Frederik confided that employees didnāt visit often because it was too depressing.
Then I think that was solved by more effectively cattle-chuting customers into their preferred platform corral. Just speculation on that, but thatās what it seemed like to me.
There were long and long standing threads that werenāt gripefests, too: tolerably mixed, but more confrontational and edgy in tone.
Most people donāt care to understand frogs, nor speak/read peeps. Yes, easily misunderstood, but taken the wrong way. Change the masses or change the peep? You turned a new pad.
