I have tried for the last 30 minutes to get the Battery Cam Pro to pair with my Pixel. I have toggled bluetooth as well. It simply times out every time.
It sounds like there is a known issue with this, and I read an employee asking another user if they had a pixel, so it sounds like it might be a pixel thing. Stay turned, I’m guessing they’ll send an update for it soon since it’s happening to multiple pixel users.
Same here. Pixel 6 pro. Very frustrating!
It is a Pixel Related issue.
Will one of you having this issue, try the following and let us know if it helped you?
So there’s no “Device Utilization” setting per se, but I took it as disabling the Mobile Network by setting “Use SIM” to off (use Wifi only, no cellular). Rebooted and tried - no go; put it back and tried - no go.
I think I’ve tried pairing after changing 100 different settings, all to no avail, but if anyone has any other ideas, I’m happy to try. Thanks.
Thanks for trying. I believe Wyze is working hard on a hotfix for this anyway, but I was hoping this would resolve it for some people while we wait.
Wyze is busy determining why Pixel phones are unable to pair via BLE. In the meantime, here are some things to try…
-
Make sure all Location Services are enabled on your Pixel. Also make sure the Wyze app has Location Permission.
-
Enable Developer Mode in Android settings and toggle on “Disable Bluetooth A2DP hardware offload”. If this allows you to successfully setup your cam, toggle this back off when done. To enable developer mode, go to Settings > About Phone > spam (rapidly tap on) the Build number.

Easiest workaround: Use a non-Pixel phone or a tablet to set up your cam.
For the record, I’ve tried each of these suggestions as well, still won’t work for me (and unfortunately I don’t have any non-Pixel devices available to me). Thanks Seapup
Couldn’t get pixel 6 to work. My old DND Samsung tablet worked (surprised I could load the app). I tried a cheap Chinese tablet and it crashed when I selected a network (probably could be fixed with a reinstall of app, but no need now).
Same thing happens with the floodlight pro - I spent a couple hours messing with it and even checked the known issues page on the Wyze site. Contacted support and they said it was a known issue with Pixel phones and told me to look at the known issues page - I pointed out that the last update on that page was 6/20. If this is a known issue, UPDATE THE PAGE
I wanted to throw myself in as a fellow issue-haver with this, I’m unable to pair a Cam Battery Pro or Floodlight Cam Pro with either my Pixel 6 Pro or my wife’s 7a. I actually had a similar issue with the Scale S, where it wouldn’t pair with my 6 Pro until I updated the firmware from another phone. Not sure if they are technically related, but the user experience was similar for sure.
Uh oh, maybe they’re not as “busy determining” with a high priority as we might think. That sucks; thanks for sharing.
I’m about ready to go get a cheap tablet from Walmart.
I’m sitting on two of these Battery Cam Pro duds too. Oh, and extra Ceiling Mount attachments that didn’t ship with the units; Solar Panels that don’t connect due to different USB ports; and not to mention the extra micro-SD cards that I bought … that also won’t work! SMH, the Product Manager for these guys is laying turds left and right.
I applied the new Wyze app update this morning, and voila, the setup (via Pixel 6 Pro) worked! Nice work guys - much appreciated
It appears to be fixed for me as well, although it took a forced app kill of the Wyze app and a flip to airplane mode and back, but I was able to pair to my Battery Cam Pro just fine now! I’m assuming the Floodlight Pro will be the same, I’ll report back if it isn’t though.
Same connection problem here. App update did the trick. Connected very quickly after I updated the WYZE app.
Same problem here but I have a LG g8. Tried all the above solutions. No other device to test with.
Tested with a friends Samsung and it worked just fine. Do I have to buy a new phone to use this new camera?
