Yes, I’m well aware, I’ve been a hardware tester for a long time now.
Oh thank the lort! I have put off buying a smart thermostat for 18 months hoping you would come out with one. I just want to control my whole house through one app on my phone. This is great!
Wyze Thermostat picture!!! Wyze released a video yesterday showing the Wyze Thermostat, Video Doorbell, and Outdoor Camera!
Can’t wait!!
Here is the video from Wyze on YouTube: Pitch To Investors- Sneak Peak of Outdoor Camera, Video Doorbell, and Wyze Thermostat
Email From Wyze:
Ecobee design looks better. The round nub is not modern
If it has the same features as other thermostats but is less expensive it’s the best design on the planet.
Also, it should have a rule that can link the thermostat with the door sensors. That way I can attach sensors to the windows as well and if any opening is left open for 10 minutes the A/C will shut off. No reason to cool down the whole neighborhood… as dad likes to say.
While it may not be super modern as long as it has same features most companies have and is a cheaper price go for it! As @wecarealot said.
still hoping to be one to test out these products they all look like they have potential ! I am a Systems Engineer and Mechatronics Engineer and looks are not as important as function especially when it comes to alpha and beta which these currently are. the way the system works and if it solves all the problems is what is important and what most people want. you can always add a new coat of paint after you know it works.
Fantastic idea, because my wife thinks I work IT for my local electricity company and not the office I actually work at.
The beauty is the consumer ability to design around the products to be inventive, innovative. Like old Lego blocks once the imagination goes so valued the product and ecosystem becomes. Keep it flexible and inexpensive and the innovators will make wyze the building blocks for a ton of items.
Would LOVE to be considered for alpha/beta testing!!
I ended up buying a Sensi thermostat. It runs on batteries, so it doesn’t require a C wire.
Hello friends! We are officially ready to recruit Alpha testers!
Testers will be expected to:
- Replace their existing thermostat with Wyze Thermostat and use it for the duration of the test
- Complete occasional tasks or assignments (e.g. create a new schedule, reboot your WiFi, share your thermostat with a friend/family member)
- Complete occasional surveys evaluating your experience with the product
- Be willing to troubleshoot with our test support team if needed
- Understand we may ask for permission to modify your heating/cooling system (turn it on/off, change an advanced setting, etc.) in order to troubleshoot unexpected issues
- Keep all aspects of testing confidential
We are asking everyone to submit a photo of their existing thermostat wiring so we can judge compatibility. Selected testers will be notified within one to two weeks.
If you’re interested please apply here: https://airtable.com/shrmtiKjbSleCZFJP
All filled out and application submitted!
Thank you and have a great day!
Done! Thanks @mike.s
Will do right now! Would love to test this!!
I would be willing to test the new thermostat. I am on a 2 wire boiler configuration. Please let me know if you need any additional information.
Thank you
@mike.s - Submitted…Thanks!!
submitted the application, thanks @mike.s! Will a C wire be required? If so, I will definitely add one.
Can’t wait to add to my Wyze ecosystem.
I am in on this and just submited my form , I do have a question though ,since I am in need of 2 thermostat controllers what do you think about me filling out the request with my wifes name as well? so if we both get one we both test them in the 2 locations in the house? And it betters the odds of getting in on this? Or is this not a good idea @mike.s? I dont want to take away from others either so I am good either way.
Hi @mike.s,
All done with the form.
