Wyze Switch partial failures (schedules) while on vacation

Installed 5 Wyze Switches in Nov 2025 in anticipation of being away from home for about 40 days. Had them all installed on various (hardwired) lights throughout the house, had them all connected and functioning correctly. Set up several schedules for each to randomize them and create the appearance of the home being occupied. (Preferred my own schedules rather than the “On Vacation” Automations because it gave me more control as to the times that they switched on and off.)

Was away on vacation, half way around the world and everything was working great; looked in on things from abroad numerous times and all was functioning correctly for about 30 days. Then suddenly, the Schedules stopped being followed on the four switches that I had active schedules running on. They still functioned correctly otherwise; all were still connected to WiFi, and most importantly I was still able to control the lights manually they were connected to (turn the lights on and off).

I’m back home now. Have not taken any actions yet on them, and not quite sure what I would do to try and “reset” them? I could effectively power-cycle them I guess, although they are all on different circuits in the house. Which leads to the point of why all four failed to follow schedules, and at the same time? Could this be some sort of a software issue or involve a server failure at Wyze?

These switches are all running firmware version 1.2.28 since setting them up in November; that version still appears to be current.

Any thoughts on what’s going on are welcome!

I don’t own any Wyze Switches and currently use a different brand as noted in another topic, so I don’t have any answers to your questions, but this one stood out to me:

Since you mentioned the Kasa HS200 and KS225 in that same topic, I’ll mention that having RESTART and RESET buttons on the HS200 is something I really like about the HS200s (and I see the KS225 has the same thing). I haven’t had to use those very frequently because the performance I’ve gotten from those has been solid, but on the rare occasions when I’ve noticed that the switches are offline, pressing one of those buttons has been an easy fix to get the switch back onto my LAN. I don’t know if Wyze Switch has anything comparable, but I see this as a check in the “pro” column for the Kasa switches (and the related Tapo switches).

Like I said, that doesn’t answer your questions here, but at least it’s activity on your topic to “bump” it.

I haven’t addressed the Wyze Switches all suddenly stopping from following the set schedules. I’m home now and have had a lot of other things to do. Think I’ll call Wyze support to talk about this before I do anything on my own, mainly because I have to wonder if the schedules are somehow supported by a Wyze server or something. That’s the only reason I can come up with for them all failing to follow the schedules at the same time. I also had some cameras around to confirm that they were not acting on the designated schedules.
