You’re welcome. I understand the concern, but I’m inclined to think about it as more of a demand and supply chain issue. The Wi-Fi Chime has been in demand and out of stock for months, as well, though that’s a newer product (introduced with Duo Cam Doorbell last year and then sold independently starting this year), and I wouldn’t expect that to be discontinued so soon. I feel like this is a big waiting game unless someone from Wyze can supply better information.
If you don’t want to wait on Wyze and don’t need a solution strictly within their ecosystem, then I’m comfortable recommending Kasa HS200s. I have a 3-pack of those that I installed several years ago and bought them because I wanted something to control power to outdoor lights via routines in Google Home, and Wyze wasn’t yet selling their Switch. I think the Wyze Switch launched several months after I bought and installed these. They’ve been solid for me, and I’ve installed another 3-pack for my sister at her house, also with good performance.
Incidentally, I looked up the Belkin Wemo situation and saw that support for many of those devices is supposed to stop at the end of January, so I passed that along to my brother-in-law. While I was visiting last week, their Wemo smart plugs were still working, but I expect that’ll end after next month, because they’re currently integrated into Google Home, and my understanding is that Belkin is essentially shutting down their Wemo cloud service.
