Tangentially related, I want to be able to do the same thing with the doorbell. Obviously I don’t need a ladder for that, but I’d like to be able to trigger the doorbell (i.e., simulate a button press) from other locations in the house for testing remote chimes.
This is needed
Has anyone tried connecting another brand smoke alarm to a entry sensor so you can get monitoring from moonlight? I figure you could name the sensor"fire" so that you would know it was the fire sensor and not an intruder.
I ended up getting an x-sense hub with a smoke/co detector and a listener. The listener goes next to my nest protect and the smoke detector went into another room that was lacking protection.
What’s the update on the smoke detector and CO detector? At least tell us if they are never going to be released.
Would LOVE to see this product. To those in the comments saying that Wyze cams will already detect the sound, that doesnt work for our situation. We have a garage and Apartment we rent out attached to our house. Two nights ago our tenant texted us “Sorry about the smoke alarm, everything is fine!” but we were completely unaware it had been going off, which worried us.
I am looking to buy a Nest alarm or similar which will notify us if there is a fire in the garage or the apartment. We cant put cameras in their space since that would be an obvious invasion of privacy. Having a Wyze solution would be great.
366 replies supporting these product ideas. How is it not obvious that there is great potential for more money to be made by Wyze? I would totally buy 2 Carbon Monoxide detectors and 4 Smoke Alarms.
One of our old alarms broke yesterday, and my wife who isn’t techy even asked if Wyze sold alarms. lol Aka I have the greenlight to buy they just need to be offered!
I’d pay for that, but I’d pay for one that simply was smoke and carbon monoxide only too.
Same. I just figured it couldn’t hurt to throw it out there just in case it was on the table if they get around to considering something.
It’s actually possible that an all-in-one device is more likely than a smoke &/or CO device alone because in previous ama and fireside event, one of the founders said the main reason reason they didn’t do these is because there are 1) a lot of regulations 2) a lot of other affordable options that they wouldn’t be able to disrupt the price on anyway or make much of a dent into the market for them.
So if they can find a way to be unique or offer something different or more than most of the others do, then they are more likely to consider it. That was part of the motivation for me trying to get them to consider extra stuff.
Correct.
Smoke and CO2 detector
Wyze can you make some smart smoke and CO2 detector please something like the Google nest one but cough cough better and that doesn’t cost so much too and one that has a good battery life and can be connect to the app and not to a base station .
If you’re already coughing, then it may be too late!
Really? You want to put your safety and the safety of your loved ones in Wyze’s hands? Have you been following these forum threads? I for one would not trust Wyze with anything remotely live threatening.
