Silicone wheel treads instead of rubber for vacum wheels

Silicone wheel treads instead of rubber for vacum wheels leaving black rubber marks on floors and carpets.

When the vacuum was new, I never saw any marks on the floor whatsoever. Now, it leaves black tread pattern all over every hardwood and tile surface. It sucks!

Hi Chris,
Ours worked well when new. The problem appears to be that the wheel treads are rubber and rubber naturally break down over time.
But we love the vacuum but not the black marks on our carpet.
Two things may help you.

  1. Contact customer support they may be able to work with you on this.
  2. Vote for my suggested fix in the wish list to replacecthe rubber treads with silicone treads.
    Thanks

The tires left severe marks on my maple floor in front of the charging station but not elsewhere. The vacuum got stuck on a door stop and a wheel left a terrible, unremovable black mark on our new beige carpet. Non-marring wheels/tires seems like an obvious upgrade to the design. I never had this problem with my Roombas.

Rick,
I have had great success removing the black marks from my carpets using Resolve Pet Expert. The spray can version you hold upside down.
Spray it on and scrub immediately (about a minute) with scrub brush. Vacuum after drying with a manual vacuum.
Please vote for my suggestion in the wish list for replacing the rubber treads with silicone treads.
Thanks

Here’s a pic.

Wyze Robot Vacuum PRO

So I couldn’t help but notice online that robot vacuums are getting very complex. There are so many features out there and so many expensive models out there, I’m about ready to see Wyze make a Robot Vacuum Pro. I’d love to see AI obstacle detection, a self-emptying dock system, perhaps even some mop features (like a mop pad that lowers while on hard floor then retracts back into the vacuum when on carpet), etc.
Features like that are all relatively premium items - I feel like this might be a good time for Wyze to step in and consider a serious product that does cost a lot. I think it’d be worth it for Wyze to not shy away from a high price for a product so nice.
Just thinking…

Still waiting for them to release corrections to the mapping and logic problems for the reboot I bought from the initial release. Can only divide rooms by exterior points, robot frequently takes an unnecessary long route to go between cleaning areas, or leaves areas uncleaned in a distant corner of a room until after finishing an area close to the home it will be returning to.

Agree. Fix current model before moving forward. We need mapping editing for rooms and such. Invested funds in original vac and nothing has been updated to my knowledge. Or allow us to trade in original model for a new model if that is the direction.

Mine just forgot everything it knew about the layout forcing a new mapping and drawing no go zones. So yes it would be great if it got updated and we’re more stable.

I’m still hoping for Google Home/Alexa voice commands.

Wait, you’re not saying that the expensive Wyze LIDAR robovac still doesn’t respond via an Alexa skill? Surely that can’t be?

On Wyze Vacuum Install Side Brush for dusting baseboards while it does parameter cleaning.

I asked about a V2 Robot Vacuum in the recent AMA and thought some of you would like an update:

Self emptying feature needed for robot vacuum

The Wyze Lidar Robot Vacuum is an excellent choice in its’ category. Unfortunately, the dust bin in the Wyze and of all similar vacuums is too small to handle larger areas or pet households without fairly constant attention to how full it has become.
I would love to see a Wyze Robot Vac with similar or increased performance that also has a self-emptying dock.

Well, that sounds semi-promising. Walmart, please ask Wyze for a v2 robot vacuum.

Currently, there are a lot of other robot vacuums for a similar price that are better (e.g. stronger suction, AI detection), so if I were to buy one, I probably wouldn’t go with Wyze, it just wouldn’t make sense from an economical and technological standpoint. But I like Wyze and would like most of my smart home products to be in the same ecosystem for better compatibility and ease of use, so I would like to see a robot vacuum v2 that is good competition in the current market.

:eyes: I wonder what that could be!

Agreed. When the Wyze Robot Vacuum first launched it was pretty disruptive. The price on it for a LiDAR mapping robot was awesome.

This forced competitors to react and start launching things cheaper and with more features. Now there are other options out there for the same or cheaper price with more suction, features, etc. I think a lot of that is thanks to Wyze shifting the market a little bit, but regardless, I think they now need to do a new version with other improvements to stay competitive.
