I replaced my battery with a new one from AliExpress (the 4800 mAh version here: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3256805882470901.html), but something’s not right. The first time I connected it to the charging station, it said it had 90% and started charging from there. The next day I tried a vacuum session and it ran for a while with the charge percentage dropping at a much slower rate than it did with the old battery. I thought all was good, but unfortunately, it died in it’s tracks after a little while.
I reconnected it to the charging station and it said it still had 89% and started charging again. After a little while it hit 100% and I tried again. And unfortunately, it died after a short while again. This time I was watching and it never dropped below 90% battery.
I’ve tried this a few times now with the same result. Every time I connect it to recharge it starts at around 90% even though it just died. It’s like it doesn’t realize that the battery is dead and only charges a short while to top it off instead of doing a full charge.
Could be a defective battery. AE has been great when I have an issue.
I would start a return on the bad battery and buy one from a different seller.
As a mechanic, I have pulled brand new name brand car batteries off the shelf that are stone dead. NEW means Never Ever Worked.
Beng a lithium battery, they might not want it back.
I hope that’s what it is. I requested a return with AE. They gave me a return label and it’s on its way back. I placed an order for a similar battery on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BZPHGTPZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) yesterday. Hopefully it works out better.
I also am facing the same issues with replacement battery from Aliexpress. The vaccum just dies and doesnt return in time for recharging. With the new replacement battery is barely able to finish 1/3rd of what it used to earlier. How has your experience with the new battery from Amazon. Should I order the higher rating battery to cover the entire floor in one go.
I received the battery I ordered from Amazon (link above) and installed it. It started out at about 27% so I placed it on the charger for a moment and kicked off a session which ran it down to single digits. I then let it charge fully.
And I’m happy to report the vacuum is running longer than it ever has before.
