After about 2 years, the battery no longer keeps a charge on one of my vacs (I have 4). Originally, the vac just stopped in the middle of the room without warning. I’ve tried the resetting, removing, etc., but the darn thing would no longer do 1 room (about 100 Sq). So recently, I started the vac at 100%, watched my phone and the mapping.
The first image is the vac at 61% (started at 100%) after 52 ft. The second image is 2 minutes later, but now the vac is at 53% and only done 95 ft.
Total clean time: 5 minutes
Total area cleaned: 95 ft straight
2 questions:
Is there or will there be a replacement battery? I’ve already taken it to a battery place and they are like, um no.
Does the vac have a built in overcharge protection? Based on my experience…no.
It should have at least the most basic li-ion charging circuit, that includes overcharge protection. If mine starts acting up I plan to install in-line volt/current monitoring to see what it actually does.
What makes you think not?
2 years of daily (you didn’t say) use and using a large part of the battery capacity each time would be hard on most batteries. Not to mention the high power and heat generated in operation.
The battery is an easy to remove module. I know the manufacture base for this, I’ll send what I find to you.
A quick search for INR18650 MH1-4S1P-SC shows AliExpress has a replacement battery. It fits the Xiaomi vac which is the company that makes the Wyze robot vac.
Unfortunately they seem to be the only place to buy one.
“To begin with this (Wyze) vacuum is actually a Xiaomi vacuum-mop P (without the mop attachment or water container but the hardware support is still there) aka a Viomi V3”
Is the information I had found . I searched AliExpress for “Viomi V3 battery” and there are a lot of options, some ship from within the US so that’s nice.
Max size is going to be around 3500mAh (3.5Ah). So you can avoid the ones over-representing their capacity. (Link below for source of legit 18650’s)
Look closely, I noticed some look very similar, but appear to be 4 cells (twice as wide) so it won’t fit, those were also listed as Viomi v3 compatible. The ones that say ‘vacuum-mop P’ are a better match.
Good gosh, this is happening to mine now too in the past week. I can watch the battery indicator on the app drop a point every 5-6 seconds on medium (standard) suction. Will be sourcing a replacement battery from Ali…
I didn’t see anyone reach out to Wyze support on this issue – I did today, and I’m not very happy with the response. Very disappointed in Wyze not standing behind their product and stocking a consumable item for their customers.

*Feb 20, 2023, 8:50 AM PST * Wyze Robot Vacuum will not charge, dead battery, need replacement. I love my Robot Vacuum, but after 667 jobs, the battery no longer works. It charges to 100%, but goes across the floor about 10 feet and dies. I changed the suction level from high to quiet and it goes a bit further in its cleaning pattern, about 30 feet but stops. The battery is rapidly decaying under load and needs to be replaced. Do you offer a replacement battery or similar program for me to get this resolved? I found cross-references to a part number that works in another vacuum but all of the stock is in China and ships from there, so if I ordered it, it wouldn’t show up until late March or mid April. Reviewing the Wyze Wish List and Forums there seems to be alot of Robot Vacuum owners who have suddently started having this problem at the beginning of the year… Likely because they also have a high number of charge cycles on the battery. Wyze should offer replacement batteries as a consumable part in their store and keep them stocked in the US so that as the vacuums age people can buy the parts they need to keep it functional. I can be reached at XXX-XXX-XXXXX if you wish to discuss more. Thank you. Wyze Order XXXXXXXXX Placed on November 29, 2020 Shipped: Fri, Dec 24. 2020 08:43 AM PST
Let me just remind you of what you should or already know but was hoping this wasn’t the case. I once again will try and explain the reality of what you are buying into here.
You are getting what you pay for… nothing more or even less.
Soon the bubble will burst…and all the purchases will go away sad and ask the same question here! How can this be? They are selling like hotcakes while utilizing their customers to support their products called “The Forum”. However, after the company grows to millions of dollars in profits they too will disappear into the sunset leaving the ashes or for some other company to buy them out.
These are some of the thoughts you must consider when investing in any company that produces and sells products with limited support and also relies on the SWAP-OUT programs if you are lucky to fall into the warranty period.
This is just my opinion on my reading of the situations forthcoming. They have lost my confidence in the ability to maintain their customer base.
I received the AliExpress battery today. Was not supposed to be here until April.
Haven’t taken the vac apart yet to see if it matches but I think it is the same
Whoops. All back together. The original battery still lasts almost an hour. I verified it is a direct replacement. No need to remove the black box that covers the batttery.
Replacing the battery is easy. Remove the roller brush cover and you will see 4 small Philips head screws holding a cover down. Remove these screws, lift the cover off, pull the battery out, and disconnect the plug from the vacuum. Installation is the reverse of removal.
I just wanted to verify the battery was correct so when it fails I don’t have to wait for the slow boat from China.
