Wyze removed all their camera reviews from their website

Nice Wyze removed all their reviews for their cameras from their website. Great way to hide ALL the issues everyone of their cameras has and the inability for Wyze customer service to find solutions and help customers when their cameras go bad (and yes within a year or two all of your cameras will go bad, have a defect or quality issue making them unusable).

Welcome to the Wyze Forum @katielynnmason

Can you provide what issues you are experiencing and for which brand of Camera?

I have had Wyze cameras for a number of years. Some of which have been in place in excess of 3 years with no real issues. I do participate in the Beta Releases as I enjoy seeing what is coming.

If you could summarize your issues to include the type of camera, Firmware Version it is on, and the iOS Wyze App Version you are using. I am sure the community will chime in and try to assist where we can.

I can only speak as to the V3’s as I won’t buy anything going forward from Wyze…

The lenses absolutely do fail over time and suck in water, has happened to over half my V3’s

Others on forum have stated same issue with models after V3

I recently had a V2 get bricked by a bad update and wouldn’t load firmware via SD, so I borrowed the lens out of it and put in a V3 - willing to bet it won’t suck water as the V2 lenses never had this issue  Time and Weather will tell…

I don’t recommend Wyze cams to anyone.

I have 55 Wyze cameras. Of those, 6 have died and I killed one. My oldest Wyze camera is a V2 and was activated 2 May 2018 so it has passed 7 years in service. 18 of the cameras are V3 and one died 11 months after purchase and was replaced under warrantee, and the one camera I killed was a V3.

So a statement that they all will die in a year or two is obviously not the case.

I read about that. I used my V3’s for sometime. I guess I did not experience the issue because I hung them under my eves.

I have been quite pleased with mine, to date. Will keep an eye on them for water damage though

I agree with this. There is a lot of conditions that can add to the demise of a camera.

But did they remove all the cam reviews from their website?

Not like I treated them with harsh environments

This one purchased on 2-20-2021 has finally started to get the lens fog too…

It was one of the first V3’s I purchased and replaced a V2 in same location (V2 was inside a case for weather)

I plan on swapping in the newly swapped V2 lens in a V3 cam too see how long if ever the V2 lens fogs with water incursion…

Yep, your setup is different from mine.

Keep us informed on how the Lens swap works out for you.

Be careful. You’ll bung up the IP65. Then blame Wyze. You know how you are.

Probably improved it to IP67 with the addition of flowable silicone RTV-734 :winking_face_with_tongue:

mmmm… flowable silicone…

But back to the forum post… were the reviews on the site? I don’t remember seeing reviews.

I don’t see the reviews for the V3 currently. They are still showing on some of the bundle pages though, like at the bottom here:

I looked at several other products And a lot of them are missing reviews, but a lot of the older ones that haven’t been updated in a long time still have them. I think somebody just forgot to add the code for the reviews when they did some updates. It might be worth having one of us point it out to them. I know they are paying a third party company to manage the review stuff for them. They’re obviously still paying for it since the reviews show up on some of the older products that haven’t been updated in a long time. So I think it’s a mistake and they don’t realize they’re paying for something that’s not even showing up.

Thanks for confirming this. :+1:

I did, too, and saw the same thing. I’m seeing a couple of other minor site problems that I’m going to ask about.

I’ll do this. :+1:

Welcome to the Forum, @katielynnmason!

Thanks! I am not home as much on Thursdays, so I will sometimes browse things, but am not always in a good position to do as thorough a job explaining an issue as I would normally like, so I delay.

Maybe they’re switching systems? Now I’m seeing Amazon reviews on some pages:

Other product pages show the previous review display:

That’s actually pretty cool and even better than the previous review system.

FYI to everyone following this thread, and to @katielynnmason who started the thread and asked, we reported the issue to Wyze and they let us know the problem is that they are in the process of switching from one review provider to another (Amazon), and sometimes there is some breakage with the review integration at the moment. You may see either the old provider reviews or the new provider reviews on different pages for now, but they will be converting all of them to the new provider. Anyone is welcome to report when they notice breakage (reviews missing) and we can pass that on to someone. In the meantime, if reviews are super critical and urgent to deciding what to buy, consider checking the reviews for the device on Amazon before purchasing. :+1:

Yup nothing better than waling up and checking your cameras to see that they’ve sopped allowing me to go live and have to set or delete/add them again. So fn done with this and the inconsistency of the service. CCTV is cheaper.
