That’s what I thought, just wanted first hand verification.

I opened case number1981884, but wanted to bring this up here since I haven’t seen any conversation yet about the newly released Cam Pan V4.

Set up was a breeze! I replaced my two V3’s and place the new V4’s in the same location, with a full strength signal from my Wyse WIFI router.

Both cameras, constantly disconnecting. I’m not sure if it’s related to the beta app or not, but I thought I’d mention it in case anyone else has been experiencing the same issue.

If you’re experiencing a problem that’s related to a beta app, then you’re likely to get more visibility for your issue (and have someone from Wyze actually see it) if you post your reply to the relevant existing Beta topic for that particular version of the app.

I have a very hard time finding where are the proper places to post my comments are.

I get that. The way this platform works can take some time to get used to. One thing that helps me is using a custom section in the sidebar where one of my links is to https://forums.wyze.com/c/beta/31?ascending=false&order=created, but you could also just save that (or something like it) as a regular browser bookmark if that’s what you’re used to. That particular link lists topics in the Beta category with the most recently created at the top, which I find makes it easier to go back in the timeline to find the most recent announcement posts about a particular app or firmware version, but there are other ways to find the right place, too. I’ve suggested that Wyze Team members who post to Beta try to tag their topics to make categorizing and searching even more efficient, but that hasn’t materialized.

I think the main thing is to see what Wyze Team members have already posted to Beta and then create your replies in those topics that are relevant (i.e., they match the app and/or firmware version that you’re using and that you believe may be related to the problem you’re experiencing). That would help with the Community Guideline directive to “Keep It Tidy” and should also get better visibility for whatever bug you think you may have identified. :+1:

Excellent! Very helpful. I was not able to find any related topics that’s why I kept trying to start one but I will search that and see if I can find something so that my notes will correlate to others and be seen all in one place as you say tidy!
Thank you again!!

A post was merged into an existing topic: Pan Cam V4 not showing Accessories - Lamp Sockets

I’ve been looking forward to an upgrade to the cam pan V3 for a long time and was very excited to see it released. In fact I ordered two the very first day.

Unfortunately although I anticipated this improvement to the cam pan, both of my cameras arrived today and they are having a very hard time staying connected.
One of them seems to have finally stabilized but the other no matter how many resets continues to go off-line or failed to connect. (failed to connect error code 3005) or it simply says the camera is off-line.

When it’s connected it looks great! Set up was a snap! Love the new look!
I’m just hoping that in the early days after it’s release we figure out what the connection issue is and get an update to the firmware to correct it.

Thank you all again for upgrading what was a relatively great camera now can be an exceptionally great camera!

Maybe it is connecting with the 5g, and that signal is too weak where it is at, and you should force it to 2.4G which has a longer range?
Mine have arrived, but I probably won’t get around to connecting them til the weekend.

Fourth strength signal 12 feet from the Wi-Fi

Last time I had this problem it was because I tried to use a 20 foot extension USB cable on a V3, I’m using the cable that came with the camera, butperhaps the cable is bad. I will try swapping it out tomorrow.

Your Wyze Chime and Cam Pan V3 would be connecting to your router using 2.4GHz band because that is all it is capable of. 2.4GHz band is better at penetrating walls and obstacles, but less bandwidth compared to 5GHz.

Cam Pan V4 is compatible with 2.4GHz and 5GHz band. It is possible that your router is connecting your Cam Pan V4 via 5GHz band instead of 2.4GHz. Try to find a way to split the bands so it forces to connect your Cam Pan V4 via 2.4GHz if range is an issue.

If you are using Wyze Router then you can try splitting the bands as mentioned here:

https://support.wyze.com/hc/en-us/articles/9767137123867-Wyze-Mesh-Router-Setup-Guide

Split Network: If you want a split network, both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz with different names, choose Split Network after naming your network. You must provide different names for each network so you can tell which is 2.4 and which is 5.0. Make sure to name the 2.4 GHz band the same as your old network name and password so you don’t have to set up your Wyze devices all over again.

Its on 2.4G. After multiple resets, removing the camera and re-attaching it (which took several attempts, repeatedly failed to get “ready to connect”)
It connected but when attempting to set way points, a disconnected over and over again. I was finally able to get all the way points set clicked on done it saved them and suddenly the camera seems to be working consistently!
I will see how long this lasts…

Let us know how that goes! It seems it takes a long time to get established and working properly, with many disconnects and hiccups along the way. But once it’s set up and connected and suddenly decides or it figures out how to stay connected. I have the WYZE router also, and it’s very close to this Adelaide mesh device with a good signal .

@Crease @spamoni

Your keeping the forum clean and tidy is appreciated.

We now have at least 3 threads running for the new Cam Pan V4. How do you suggest we proceed?

  1. Merge the existing threads.
  2. Pick one
  3. Start a new one
  4. Free for all

Your guidance is appreciated.

P. S. The 3 threads

  1. This thread
  2. WYZE cam pan V4
  3. Pan Cam V4 not showing Accessories - Lamp Sockets

I will be merging them all into one thread.

I am going through the topics and planning on doing this today.

Thanks for the heads up

EDIT

FYI, Merged. You can see the info above

My vote would be to merge the topics in one place. I see that is the plan, excellent!
