Pan Cam V4 not showing Accessories - Lamp Sockets

Installed Pam Cam V4 and added two lamp socket V2 to it. No option in the Cam’s setting for accessories in order to adjust settings for the sockets. Actions taken include - force close app, delete data, relog, restarted and reset services on the cam, and cycled power by turning off the switch to all devices for more than 30 seconds. Please advise.

That’s a good catch! I wonder if it shows up in the new app version? I’m guessing not and speculating that Wyze hasn’t (yet?) built that into the new Cam Pan v4’s plugin.

I was going to suggest adding the Lamp Socket v2s as accessories for another Cam (like a regular Cam v4 if you have something like that) and then just controlling the sockets with Automations since they’re supposed to support that (according to the FAQs section on the Lamp Socket v2’s product page), but I’m not seeing them as selectable devices within Automations Actions, so it looks like you’re kind of boned until Wyze fixes this. :frowning:

I’m going to ask about this and see what I can learn, because I think this is a real problem on more than one front.

Thanks for helping get this topic back to it’s own post. I wasn’t going to argue the point, but it did seem likely to get lost among all the other discussions going on in there. And thanks for bringing to Wyze’s attention as well.

Seems likely they just haven’t built the “accessories” functionality into the camera yet. I was able to set the light schedule during the initial socket setup process, I just can’t edit those settings or delete the sockets now.

You’re welcome. For selfish reasons, I’d also like to see the Lamp Socket v2 get some more attention, especially with respect to Automations, and I appreciate @spamoni’s moving this topic back here. I also asked the Moderation team to add the cam-pan-v4 tag to this topic, and that’s been done, as well.

If you have another compatible Wyze Cam, then have you tried doing a factory reset on the sockets to see if you can add them as accessories to a different camera? That doesn’t really solve the problem if your primary use case for these involves Cam Pan v4, but that might allow you to get some use out of them until Wyze addresses the issue.

I used one of the sockets on the pan cam v3 I had up before, and it worked fine. I can wait until wyze addresses the issue. No rush. I will say, I did notice the V2 had fewer control settings than the V1 socket. Found that kind of strange. And I was never able to get a V1 and V2 to connect to the pan cam v3 together. One or the other would connect, but not both. So I just bought a second socket V2.

I can’t speak to that experience at all, because I’ve never had any Lamp Socket v1s, but I really do like that the v2s have their own Wi-Fi connections and have power output that can support Cam Pan v3 (though I haven’t yet tried using one like that). Where I’ve been using the Lamp Socket v2s, I’ve thought about putting a Cam Pan v4, because the addition of the spotlight could really add some utility to that application (a storage room that’s usually dark but has a pet door for cats to go in and use litter boxes). I think once Wyze builds out and releases the Automations capabilities and enhances the app plugin for Cam Pan v4 to support Accessories, that will really make these sockets even more flexible and useful.
