I have been waiting on Wyze to release a 4K battery cam for a while. Although not battery I was excited to see the Pan V4 release and decided to replace my standard V4 on my driveway with the Pan V4. Installed it today and I must say I’m a little disappointed. Now matter what combo of settings I try it wants to fixate on my parked truck. There is absolutely no motion but it keeps going to the truck. When I home it, straight back to the truck. I finally turned off recording because every 2 minutes it was recording and sending notifications. It’s running the latest firmware. The video and panning is also a little choppy and it has good WiFi signal. The standard Cam V4 worked fine in the same location. Is there a new firmware being worked on for the Pan V4? Has anyone else seen these issues?
My new V4 constantly disconnects with a -3000 error - but the router is 5 feet away; This makes no sense. Same issue with vehicles. The tracking is horrible.
I’ve observed similar behavior. The “fixation” on parked vehicles appears to be related to the motion sensitivity setting. When I changed it from 5 to 3, it stopped fixating on cars in the street about 30-50’ away. (You can observe this by turning on motion tagging).
My wild speculation is this is related to the 4K image processing. Something Wyze will hopefully tweak quickly on the back end or through a firmware update. I suggest opening a case to support the cause of bringing it to their attention. ![]()
While reducing the motion sensitivity may not be ideal in the long run, it is either that or masking (detection zone) so pick your poison. ![]()
Lol, right before I read this post, I literally just was like, why the heck is my drive way camera repeatedly saying vehicle detected. In my case, there are 2 cars parked next to each other, and it’s having fun locking on to both cars back and forth. What is strange is that the motion box is solid/persistent around the.. parked car. Which isn’t moving.. so what is going on?
This is the 2nd bug I’m dealing with the Pan Cam v4. The first being that it completely ignores detecting humans in broad day light (which is a deal killer for me if Wyze doesn’t make a gesture of effort to fix that quickly).
Edit: even with motion sensitivity to lowest setting, it’s still going bonkers.
You’re clearly not alone, as this kind of behavior with parked vehicles has been mentioned in the product launch topic and elsewhere. I imagine this is something that will likely be addressed with future firmware and/or server-side changes, and I agree with logging it, opening Support tickets (including the Log IDs in the tickets), and also posting about these kinds of issues in the announcement topic and any future Forum topics announcing a new production firmware for the device, as those topics are created in the Wyze News category by Wyze employees, so your comments might get better visibility there.

I’ve seen the same issues with my Pan Cam v4. I’ve submitted logs where nothing was actually detected. The detection is pretty bad — I can walk right by it and nothing happens, and it won’t follow movement. It almost seems fixated on a car in the frame and ignores everything else.
On top of that, I have two of these cams and both of them seem to lose their Wi-Fi connection randomly. I’ll either get a weak mobile signal warning or a -3000 error. Power cycling them brings them back, but it keeps happening. I’m on a mesh network with routers all over, and the Wyze app shows full bars for Wi-Fi signal even right before the disconnect.
At this point, I’m exchanging both with Amazon because between the detection problems and the Wi-Fi drops, they just aren’t reliable.
my camera has stabilized the wifi connection. I did order a new one to replace it so I will send it back as being flawed. Wyze cams seem to be toy based and not for a real use. I wonder where the priorities are with this company, make a ton of money on sub-par products, or security. Ugh
I have noticed the same behavior, extremely irritating. The other problem I have is that the camera loses track of the home waypoint constantly. It will be fine one minute, then I open the app and the camera is pointed roughly at the waypoint, except it’s like someone has hit the pan control and panned down 5-6 times. Other times the camera has magically panned up by itself. If I attempt to fix it manually it stays for a few seconds and then goes back to the wrong position. I have deleted and re-created the waypoints a dozen times and nothing seems to fix it. I’m about ready to send this camera back.
My wyze cam v4 pan cam is freezing up, it goes to solid red light when I did turn the light off, the live stream is giving error 3005, I’m sending this trash v4 pan cam back!
I have to admit, it is unstable at best. Constantly dropping connection even though a stable access point is within 10 feet and signal strength is amazing. I have come home to a black screen several times. The biggest problem for me is that unlike the v3 and other cameras, when you login to wyze portal it doesn’t show a periodic snapshot like the others. Wyze support told me to see that snapshot I now need a subscription. So the moral of the story is return the v4 and stay with v3.
Also for those more development inclined, the API data returned for the v4 is different than the others. It no longer returns an internal IP. I personally think that is part of the problem as they are forcing you to go through the cloud to connect vs locally.
Example JSON. The IP should be your internal network IP like previous models. It is now NULL.

If you’re referring to Plus Lite, it’s not available for pan cam V4, nor new Wyze accounts.
nope. no clue what plus light is.
just checked no I have never had that.
Well, New firmware was released yesterday and I think it has resolved my issues. Still a little early to tell if its 100% but the testing I’ve done between last night and this morning has been positive.
Also been having many of the Pan V4 problems mentioned in this thread. Mainly the network disconnects and failures to connect (-3005). I end up having to power-cycle the camera to get it back online. Also had the fixation on parked cars in the street, and have noted the failure to track a person walking past the camera. Got the update to 4.70.0.2415 a few days ago, but the problems persist.
After testing with the new firmware, its better but still not right. The live feed is slow at best and very laggy in 4k mode. When you try tapping on the device in the app to open the live feed it locks the app up for around 5 - 10 seconds before it loads.
And it still randomly focuses on cars even if you don’t have that turned on, or selected.
Ya, annoying that it keeps identifying a car parked in my driveway, when it’s clearly not the thing that caused the event.
The other thing I noticed with the pan V4 is the event video seems to capture the moving item a split second later than my other cameras (v3 and v4). It seems like the other cameras start the video a second or so before the movement, whereas the pan V4 doesn’t. So when a car drives by my back street, the video starts with the car already halfway through the frame.
This is a false statement. As long as “vehicle” is included in one’s object detection list, it doesn’t have to be the original event trigger. For example, if a person triggers a recording, as long as there’s a vehicle in frame, there should be a vehicle event as well.
That’s certainly possible, maybe I’m just focusing on this issue too much and not remembering how my cam V4 behaved in this scenario when it was connected in the same location. When I have the time, I should reconnect my cam v4 next to the Pan V4 and see if there’s a difference. From what I remembered (maybe), for example, if a person triggered the event, and a car passed by a few seconds later, then it said it was a person and a car (which is good), but if the car was parked there for days, and didn’t move during the event, then it only identified a person. Whereas the Pan V4 will identify a car in all the events (which could be misleading), because I would be more concerned if a moving car was in the event.
And I recently turned off motion tagging, because it kept putting the green box around the parked car in every event. I think it did this less after the firmware update was applied, but it still occasionally happened.
I’ll be interested to learn what your results are if you test this. Reviewing events from a (non-Pan) Cam v4 the past few days I’ve seen a ton of them marked “Vehicle” because this camera looking out a window gets triggered by a blowing tree and then sees the van that’s constantly parked in the driveway across the street. This makes me wonder about another back-end change with the AI model that may straighten itself out over time.
