Wyze Headphones are here! ... But how much do you think they cost? 9/29/20

it’s in probation period now… if it continues to lose BT audio during my zoom meetings, I am going to return them. Stability is needed regardless of the price range.

I agree. I haven’t messed much with the EQ, but the sound out the box is lacking.

I find audio sounds better without using the Waze APP/EQ, just plain BT connection and maybe use the EQ in the Audio App like Spotify…

My headphones arrived yesterday. I agree about the nice build quality… a little heavy perhaps but not bad at all. Unfortunately I can’t get them to install via the Wyze app. I hit the “+” sign and “Add Device” button and it begins “Searching for your headphones…” the headphones are in Ready To Pair mode with the LED blinking blue to red. Unfortunately it never finds the the headphones and eventually bombs out to the “Move your headphones closer to your phone” page. I’ve reinstalled the Wyze app & checked that I have the latest version (v2.15.51)… still no luck. I can see them listed in my phone (Samsung S20+) BlueTooth device list and it will happily pair with the headphones from there but the headphones never show up in the Wyze app if I do that.

Since the headphones never show up on the Wyze app installed devices list I don’t have access to the EQ feature… and I don’t know what else??? All other functions work fine… although BT volume is a bit low.

Alexa functionality is a bit funky… not exactly convenient to have to always have the Alexa app open and the screen ON in order to make verbal requests. It appears to simply be listening from the phone… not from the headphones. If I let the screen go black I lose Alexa connectivity… no replies. FAIL… who wants to have to carry your phone around and constantly touch it to keep the screen on? I can only hope that this will change if I can ever get the headphones installed via the Wyze app itself.

So… now what? I’ve left a message with Support… still no reply. So… has any one else had trouble installing via the Wyze app? If so, any problems or stumbles? Solutions?
Suggestions?

Sadly, they press too hard to consider wearing more than 10 minutes. My earlobes hurt. The opening of the foam is child-ear-sized. The sound though, amazing! I wish I could make use of them.

APP EQ is a joke… No need to worry too much about it except for firmware upgrades

Assistant never worked properly on mine…
And so.,… it will become the headset for my kids
Getting my BOSE back from them…

How can you replace the headphone’s ear pads, I’ve picked a bit at mine, and cant seem to crack it (plus i’m worried i’m going to break something).

I reckon you should make sure you’re on the latest firmware, updating made a huge difference to the EQ controls.

Welcome to the Wyze community @matthew.latz.2024!

Already on the latest firmware, compare to other brands, Waze’s EQ and App control has a LONG way to go

I did happen to catch that, but does anyone know how to replace them?

I’m not sure on that one. I’d think that Wyze will have instructions when they start selling the replacements.

Update: Problem solved! Just shut off my Samsung Active 2 watch and everything installed nicely and even updated firmware. Turn watch back on and we’re now good to go!

Ok, after a week of having them I am satisfied. Messing with the EQ got the sound alot better, could still be improved but sounds good. I have no problem with wearing them for long periods of time. The only thing I can constructively criticize is the skipping through the bluetooth connection and the inability to clearly connect two BT devices. Keep up the good firmware updates and we will have a solid product.

giving up, creating a RMA now

  • constant BT connectivity issues, practically not usable for a meeting
  • multipoint does not work as expected

Yeah, the BT on mine is now skipping like crazy.

Customer service reminded me of new firmware, one released on 12/14, giving it last chance…

After upgrading to the latest firmware 2.1.111 (December 14, 2020)

The App and Headphone does not connect.

I give up… RMA in progress

I’m pleased with them. Sound is good, very nice build. Connects to my phone and Chromebook fine. Only thing is auto pause really doesn’t work. It has a couple of times, but doesn’t as a rule. Same in my wife’s pair I gave her, and others have posted the same issue. Shame, as that’s a very handy feature.
Otherwise, so far so good.

I am not happy at all, the noise cancellation is not working at all, the sound is cutting off every time, the switching from a phone to a laptop and backwards is awful so i have to turn off and on again in order to change devices, the headphones also turn off randomly when I am in a zoom or skype call. Everything was bad, I am even using my iphones wired headphones when I really need them to work for a videoconference or something because they are just bad.
