Wyze Headphones are here! ... But how much do you think they cost? 9/29/20

Wow that really sucks.

Can’t use but reviewing the material, builds, and comfort

Material: decent, no out of ordinary feel, solid

Builds: sturdy, feels a bit heavier compare to Bose and Sony, this affects long time wearing.
Putting it on, feels tight from the ear cups, this should break in overtime. The over ear is pressing because of newness but still feels good, I think should be ok for 1-3 hours wearing at first and as it breaks in more overtime it should be more comfortable with longer time wearing.

Comfort: compare to Bose and Sony, it’s a bit heavier and because it’s brand new, the tightness is more obvious. I can only activity use my right hand now (just have a procedure and left arm is in sling). So putting on and off is a bit challenging but the build is good so feels it’s a decent quality product that can last long, but the weight does affect long time wearing, time will tell.

Hi @viscount! I’m so sorry for the issue! Our QA has contacted the customer support to get your returned unit and we’ll investigate into what happened. Thank you!

I got the new unit and shipped back the RMA yesterday.
Can I put in a feature request here?

  1. option to get female system voice, existing is fine but coming from other brands, it’s awkward.
  2. multipoint BT is working but unable force connects to specific devices unless I turn off others, what other brands had was the option to do so in the App (Sony/BOSE) or rotate the BT device profiles (BOSE) stored on the headphone to connect to.

Overall this is a great headphone for the price and hope these feature request can make the phone the best in the market

For me it’s both and, i have large ears. They go on at first but interestingly they are narrower where they meet the face than where it meets the speaker so my ears sort of slip through after a couple seconds.

Also i have a request, when you cover the right ear to engage transparency mode there’s some popping. Can this be made to fade in or out the replayed external sound, like over half a second or so? Interestingly there’s no popping when transparency is toggled via the button. Thanks

I received mine on 03 December. I added them to the app on my phone and went through the various buttons and modes. They fit well and the wear is comparable to the high end Sony headphones I use with my TV.

I listened to an audio book from my phone for a few minutes, and then wore them for about an hour, watching training videos on my laptop. The multipoint audio works well.

The noise cancelling blocks the sound of the HVAC in my office and the road noise from outside my window.

Compared to the cost of my Sony headphones, the Wyze headphones look like a very good deal.

My only issue is that the headphones do not block my tinnitus. Can you work on that one, Wyze?

@Kimj

Not sure what I am experiencing is a design flaw or feature lacking?

The headphones works great when paired with just 1 or 2 devices entirely but having more then 2 device connection profiles then things become weird. I am not able to cycle through the BT connection profile on the Wyze app or headphones so the third or fourth or other devices needs to be away or have other devices’s BT turned off to connect. Although connection is made on the third device (tablet with Wyze app installed so in the app, connection is confirmed) but audio isn’t working, no sound.

Does anyone experience connection issue when you made connection with more than 2 devices?

Like audio sources shouldn’t need to turn off BT options for multipoint to work that kinda defeat the purpose

Yes I agree build is very decent. I think it is overall a good product for the price. I thought sound quality was maybe slightly less than stellar but I have no issues so far. Wish the carrying bag was better but at this price I understand the need to keep cost low.

Funny enough the bluetooth is good enough that I kept getting the second phone audio when testing this out and that phone was downstairs. It was annoying enough that I finally disconnected my phone and will continue testing only with one phone.

this sounds like BT multipoint logic design flaw, hope Waze can fix this with next firmware update…

BT specs say distance is 10 meters. I have seen BT centrals pick up beacons from 100 meters. I think manufacturers run their transmitters too high and so it may not be the receiver’s fault. The receiver could adjust based upon RSSI, but that is a tricky business with BT.

The sound quality less than stellar? Man, that is what I was hoping WAS stellar…I could careless about pairing multiple bluetooth devices, give me a great sound.

I mean it’s good sound don’t get me wrong, but you can get better sound by going up a lot in price. At this price point it would be very hard to beat. It sounds like a $200 -$300 pair easily.

I did not experience any latency while watching TV either. I paid close attention on a close up of Michael Caine’s mouth as he spoke into a telephone. What I heard in the Wyze headphones matched exactly.

To do an instant impression, just say “my cocaine” out loud.

Agreed I watched on it iPad and absolutely no latency. Very impressed

I am getting mine today
