Last call! Wyze Headphones preorders are closing at the end of the day TOMORROW, 12/31.
If you wanna hear more of your favorite songs (or less of everything else considering the REALLY good Active Noise Cancellation), get your order in ASAP before these advance to a general launch and are subject to our 2021 post-tariff pricing.
(From recent Wyze email: “Another round of updates about your preordered product(s) from Wyze.”)
Finally got curious about this today. Couldn’t find any replies with a clear explanation, so I risked it and tinkered with my own headphones to figure it out. Here’s how to remove the ear cushions:
Rest the headphones on your table front-side down and turn the cups so the ear cushions are facing you. You should be able to see both the ‘L’ on the left side and the ‘R’ on the right side. I recommend taking a photo of this, so you know the proper alignment of the ‘L’ and ‘R’ cushions in the event that you remove both cushions and no longer have a reference for your alignment.
For the following steps, I’ve found it easiest to work in the ‘southwest’ section of the ‘L’ cup and the ‘southeast’ section of the ‘R’ cup, because the cavity underneath these sections is deepest. Your mileage may vary, but technically this should work anywhere along the rim of the ear cushion:
Run your thumb inside and under the protein leather portion of the ear cushion and feel for the plastic rim. You should be able to feel two rigid sections - one very thin section, which you can fit your thumbnail under, and one larger section, about 1/8" thick.
Wedge the tip of your thumb underneath the thick section. Using your thumb’s first knuckle to apply gentle leverage to the center framing of the cup, pry up the plastic rim. The plastic underneath the center is molded into concentric circles, with a cross running through them for support. As long as your knuckle can feel the shape of this framing, you should be fine. Just avoid the exact center of the framing, because part of the driver’s circuitry is located there.
With enough pressure, The plastic clips inside the cup will detach from the sockets of the ear cushion rim. There are six clips per ear cushion.
To replace, simply snap the ear cushion back onto the clips along the rim. The clips appear to vary in width, which is why it is important to get your alignment right. Refer back to the photo you took earlier if you are having trouble.
Hi, I bought this headphone to work they are great, but I have a issue: When I answer a call, I can’t hear anything else in the computer, this help sometimes, but sometimes not so much. Anyone knows how to unlock that mode?
So it’s been over 2 years since this post, when will replacement cups be available for sale? Just had support tell I was SOL on my shredded cup padding
Love these headphones, we have 2 pairs and use them daily.
The ability to use them corded (without battery power if needed) is an excellent feature, and they’re sooo comfortable. I’d recommend these to anyone, and would buy them again is a second.
