Wyze doorbell vehicle detection help

After rereading your post I see what you’re saying. A motion event triggered the recording then the ai scanned it and tagged it as a vehicle.

If that’s the case that’s dumb and not like my other cameras. The other wyze cams don’t alert me for anything but a person. So even if they see a vehicle after a motion even they are not alerting me. Only for persons.

Again thanks for trying to help. I just think the doorbell has something wrong since I’ve owned it for several years now and this is a new (and really only) issue I’ve ever had with it.

Oh yes, I see, that is strange that it is sending you vehicle alerts when you have vehicle toggled off in the detection settings :thinking: this indicates that the toggle is not actually updating the setting. Thank you for the clarification and suggestion to pay closer attention to the previous comment about that part of it. I have seen this kind of issue before a long time ago.

What app version are you using? I might try to see if I can reproduce it and pass on some details to someone.

You also said this is a new issue. Can you give a ballpark estimate of about when you started noticing that it changed?

I know this is an old thread but I am also having this issue. It’s definitely something to do with the motion detection picking up on something and then identifying the car parked across the street as a vehicle so giving me the notification even with vehicle turned off. I have contacted wyze maybe 4 times in the past year about it and get the same responses and troubleshooting tips each time. Eventually they just tell me there is nothing more they can do and keep an eye out for app and camera updates. Short of turning motion detection off, I can’t stop the doorbell from sending me the vehicle alerts. Super frustrating.

Chiming in that I’m another user experiencing this exactly as others have described: smart detection on and Vehicle disabled. Wyze Cam Pro v3 does not have this issue. I will not be attempting any cache clearing or power cycling, as it’s been reported here that nothing fixes this.

Wyze should fix this bug, as notification fatigue is a huge disadvantage to smart camera usefulness.

I’m having this issue as well. It is and has been very frustrating that the controls in the app don’t change notification or recording behavior on my V1 Doorbell. It certainly limits the value I see in my Cam+ subscription.

Come on wyze, fix this, its annoying. Only way to fix is to turn off ALL notifications for this camera, but I don’t want that!!!
