My road is busy, so I have Vehicle notifications turned off every time a car goes by I get a notification for person even though there are no people anywhere on my street.
In the notifications tab, event, manage you have two choices record and notify.
you supposedly can have it record but not notify or vice versa and you can have it do both. I have mine to record all but only notify me for people, pets and packages. However it does what it wants, it does not do what you choose and on top of that my setting are constantly changing on it’s own. While writing this I have received 8 notifications for sound, I have that turned off???
You are forced to pay for a subscription to make these cameras somewhat useful anymore [I had Wyze before they had created the subscription]
With [2] Wyze pan and scan cameras - I have had [1] car stolen, yard thefts, several car break ins and the cameras did not catch anything - Because on top of these other issues for some reason even with the forced subscription at times the cameras just stop recording and I would have to restart them, With the new and improved app that spams you with notification you haven’t requested or that are incorrect, I noticed you can go in settings and click on reset services. Now every night before I go to bed I click on that and restart the cameras just for good measure. Hopefully next time something happens I can have a description for the police.
I’ve seen two issues with notifications since moving to app 3.0.
First is that some cameras seem to stop detecting movement periodically, so obviously no event is created and no notification sent. In all cases these are interior cameras and the movement is a human moving in the detection area. In particular I notice a hallway camera where this happens frequently and that same camera seems to be confused about night or day (when I view it the video is black and white like nighttime, even though the hallway is lighted. If I toggle from auto to off then back, the camera properly starts displaying in color.) I suspect this is related to the failure to detect motion.
Second is that the notification settings are mysteriously changing, in particular I notice that interior cameras that do NOT have vehicle or package detection enabled will suddenly have those settings checked. I did not change them. I do not share these cameras so no other person changed them. Something in the software changed them. Haven’t been able to see a pattern that might point to the cause, but it is irritating to get a notification of a vehicle on an interior camera.
Yes I have the same problem all vehicles are now people. Just to add more I get a notification of a person arriving and not leaving or no notification at all.
The AI needs a lot more work.
In response to your restarting cameras, I had a cam pro v3 that I had to power cycle twice a day to get it to work (camera is now in trash. solved problem).
