Thank you, that worked for me on my iPad as well.
Sound issues:
-
Hearing just loud white noise for all cloud events only. The sound is normal for Live view as well as SD recording.
-
I have Cam Unlimited subscription. For all Sound triggered events, the recording is a fixed 12s. and suffers a full 5min cooldown period.
These are the two “sound “ related issues with this beta FW release affecting v4 only. Doesn’t matter if using beta app or public app.
RTSP:
Has anyone managed to get RTSP working with a username that starts with a lower case character other than “admin”? It appears that the app capitalizes the first letter of the username.
Overall:
Some cam settings appear to have been reset. They are no longer persistent from previous release. One in particular is the motion and sound detection are disabled.
I have the same thing that is happening to me, and I have a support ticket in. Everyone should not update to this new beta firmware because it will break all of your cameras with having a loud screeching sound for all events recorded in the cloud and the video will also lag. I am waiting for tech support to get back with me. For now, all of my cameras are broken because of this new beta firmware update.
Thanks for confirming. Wyze, you need to test the basics before putting out any release, even beta ones.
“All v4 cams updated to latest beta FW suffers from audio completely overlaid with white noise track.
The video buffering issues have never been fixed but are worst with release as it affects just about every event.” Log 2487550
A quick check of a couple of my V4s, and I also hear the screeching noise in the cloud events.
Same here.
New update trouble with the speed in events viewing
My cameras since the new update are acting weird. The update was very hard to get it to install. I have 9 cameras and great wifi. They have all been great before this update. If I go to view events the 14 second video plays in about 1 second and show at hyper speed. I have tried everything except a factory reset and starting over. I have sd cards in them all.
Any ideas that I can try to get them to work again.
Android phone and version 4.52.17.10 and nothing but problems.
[Mod Note]: Your topic was merged to this Beta firmware announcement topic for better visibility to Wyze.
For those experiencing the loud noise with this firmware, we know about the issue and are currently working on a solution.
Thank goodness! It’s about time! Mine is working just fine so far!
Interesting note:
Every time I try to update a V4 camera to this firmware from the account tab firmware section, the update fails. Every time I open the camera individually from the home screen and update from there, the update succeeds. Could be coincidence, but so far it’s proved true with at least 6 different attempts. Strange.
So if the firmware isn’t loading for you, try the other way I guess.
There is nothing you can do from this beta firmware update. The sound is also messed up. We have to wait until they work on some type of solution. All of my V4 cameras are affected with the sound and speed. Apparently, they are working on some type of solution. It’s taking a while so far. For me, I have unenrolled in their beta tests because of this.
Also, if you record cloud events triggered by sound, the recording is limited to 12s even with a Cam Unlimited subscription
Same here. All 15 cameras won’t update. Idle forever.
Support useless.
I was able to get it working with these video settings in Blue Iris:
*Blue Iris doesn’t support RTSPS, so be sure to NOT enable that when you create the login credentials for the camera in the Wyze app. Just regular RTSP.
In Blue Iris for each camera:
-Set the network type dropdown to “http://”
-Make: Generic/ONVIF
-Model: VLC-compatible RTSP (This was the secret to making it work)
-Media/video/RTSP port: 554
-Main Stream Profile: /stream0
Under Advanced:
-Set Receive buffer to 20 MB
-Check “Send RTSP keep-alives” and “Use RTSP/stream timecode” (This helped with some “jumpiness” during playback) All other items unchecked.
*Note I also had to manually reboot each camera after the firmware update for this to work at all.
Hope this gets you and others connected as well!
Update them 1-by-1 by going into each camera. That works. But beware, your sound will mess up.
If you do get a 12s event, then the sound is fine. But if it’s anything other than 12, you will hear loud noise.
I figured it out. In the WebRTC Cam yaml you need to add “mode: webrtc” at the end.
So the configuration would look like so:
type: custom:webrtc-camera
url: rtsp://127.0.0.1:8554/cam_name
mode: webrtc
Updated a single V4 to new beta with RTSP enabled and linked into Homebridge. Homebridge works great and I can make my camera work on apple tv which is what I wanted. It seems to screw with just watching live view in the Wyze app on my ipad or iphone though. Constant failed to connect or freezes. Ping running to device is fine just seems to be a service issue with Wyze while RTSP is on and running.
I am currently enrolled in the Wyze Beta program but am unable to receive the new 4.52.17.10 RTSP beta firmware on my Wyze Cam v4 units.
My account appears to be stuck in a backend sync loop on the mobile app. Whenever I navigate to Account ➜ Firmware Update, the screen states that there are “no devices linked to this account,” despite having multiple active cameras and switches up and running fine on my primary home screen dashboard. Because the firmware page is blank, the app is failing to fetch the OTA update bundle.
To resolve this on my end, I have already attempted the following troubleshooting steps without success:
- Cleared the app cache and performed a hard log out/log in.
- Completely uninstalled and reinstalled the Wyze app.
- Cleared hidden app data and storage via OS settings.
- Tested the connection on both local Wi-Fi and strictly cellular mobile data to eliminate local network or DNS blocking.
My Device Details:
- Phone: Google Pixel 10 Pro XL
- OS: Android 17 QPR2 Beta 2
Since the application utility page remains blank, could you please look into my account profile on your end, or directly whitelist my hardware for a direct push request?
Thank you for your help in getting this sorted out!
Best regards,
Adam Pristel
EDIT : Installed Wyze app on a Samsung tablet and i now have devices in the firmware page, which they all fail installing. Tried updating per device (gear icon when viewing stream) and that fails also. ![]()
You and mostly everyone else lol.
Word is if you care about 12 second or longer videos and audio you don’t want this update yet.
