Wyze Cam v3, Wyze Cam v3 Pro, and Wyze Cam Pan v3 Beta Firmware

I don’t have any Cam v3 Pro but only my Cam V3s are affected.

All of my Cam Pan v3s still work fine

Lesson to me I won’t be using bulk update for a long while again

At least my Cam V3s are still capturing events until this gets addressed.

I have one cam V3 that is working fine but the other v3 is not doing great. It occasionally connect to the livestream but seemingly only after being restarted.

On 2.48 app, log id: 1266148

Cam pam v3 no issues to report so far

I do apologize for this happening, I know it is frustrating to update and have things go awry. A good practice on beta firmware is to update a single cam and verify things before going further. I will usually choose a non-critical camera to do this first test.

That being said I do apologize to everyone who ran into this issue, and we are working to get this firmware fixed now. Wyze Cam v3 and Wyze Cam v3 Pro firmware are paused, Wyze Cam Pan v3 firmware is still live as it seems to be ok.

Firmware 4.36.11.7863 - All V3 Camera’s not connecting

Had a firmware push (v: 4.36.11.7863) to all my V3 Cameras, now NONE of my V3 cameras will connect and the app will not allow me to see live video via the Wyze app. Everything was working fine until this firmware got pushed out.
Did @Wyze push out yet another fubar’d firmware???
I have already deleted and reattached each camera, no change.
@Wyze: What is the solution to get my V3 Cameras reconnected so the app works.

[Mod Note]: Your topic was merged to this beta announcement.

Please go to Wyze app Home > your v3 cam > Settings > Device Info > Firmware Version > Automatic Update > Toggle “Off”

Do this for all of your v3 cams to ensure you are not negatively affected by automatic beta firmware updates in the future.

The doesn’t help me now getting all my cams back online!

Your cams are online and functioning properly. You just can’t live stream your cams. You can try loading the previous 2.47 app via TestFlight if you’re a beta iOS user. Or wait for the Wyze devs to push a fix out. They are working this issue as a priority:

What are the steps to do this?

You’re not alone on this matter. I have most of my cams down right now because of this firmware update. I’m in the Beta as you must be as well. Beta firmware can cause problems and I expect it since I’m in the program. Sadly I was lazy and just did a bulk update. Usually I do 1 until I’m sure it’s ok. Wyze will figure this out. I’m sure it won’t be long as well.

Updated yesterday. After update, can’t access live video. The camera is connected and I can alter settings, it just sits at phase 1 of 3 connecting.
Now if I power off - power on ( via the app ) 4-5 times quickly. It will load a live view. Coming back later necessitates the same action. I’m even getting event video. Just not live view without the off/on sequence.

Hit the on / off button over and over. After 4-5 times, you’ll see the live view connecting. You can still access the camera setting. I found this out by accident as my cameras are 350+ miles away. Fortunately, I power all mine with Wi-Fi switches or POE so I can at least power cycle everything.

Successfully rolled back to a previous firmware 4.36.11.7095 (which is quite a pain to do for 5 cameras).
After the rollback procedures were completed, the cameras now works with the app for Live view and video playback.
QYZE: PLEASE fully troubleshoot your firmware updates BEFORE it is rolled out to your customers.

Yeah lesson learnt here, my 10 cam v3s all updated to the new beta firmware and wouldn’t load livestream. I’ve rolled back to version 2.47.0.373 of the app from apkmirror and that seems to have fixed them for now even though it has been mentioned above that v 2.48 is required to connect due to security improvements.

Some of my cams when trying to connect before I fixed it reported that they were cam pan cameras in device info and were showing no signal strength…

Edit - not fixed some cams are still showing error 27 randomly…

For a stable version of the firmware, switch back to the production branch. Using beta firmware or being in beta programs is understanding that software you are trying may still have bugs and your participation is helping iron out these bugs. Providing feedback, comments and logs here will help iron out these issues to make this beta firmware fine. Tuned for production release.

What is the procedure to rejoin the production branch and will this allow users on a beta release to roll back to an earlier version? Just to reiterate what others are saying…PLEASE TEST YOUR FIRMWARE BEFORE YOU PUSH IT OUT!!! Given the widespread nature of this issue, it seems the dev was being a bit lazy…

Here is the beta tester info page.

Eating popcorn. . . .

Yes, we know, but we also know that real Wyze employees DO monitor, respond to, and ask questions of the forums, that are paid for and hosted on Wyze sites and servers. And posting our concerns for the public AND for the Wyze employees and officials to see is NOT something that should be chastised or discouraged.

Agreed. All feedback for both good and bad is welcome to help the beta process move forward.

Updated 3 panv3s and all went well, v4.50.4.7796, they are showing no issues. app version v2.48.0 (b377) android. will report any issues.
Luckily, I have been busy and did not update any of my V3s. so will be watching this closely.
