Some members have said they used a 8GB SD card (full format not Quick) to manually install firmware. Worth a try if you have an 8GB on a shelf

I’d wait a while before updating the phone app.

I’ve got quite a few 32gb and one 16gb - trying the 16gb now.

It is a Sony Android phone and tends to update itself randomly.

Just tried a 16gb card - no change.

Everything seems ok when adding the camera - except it cannot see the QR code.

I’ve even resorted to cleaning the lens with a lens cleaning wipe.

I’ll continue tomorrow - I need an evening away from this!

ll not working - despite me doing exactly the same as the first one. It is behaving slightly differently though.

When I try to add it to the app it behaves itself right up to the point where it needs to scan the QR code … It doesn’t see the code at all and just sits there!!

Have you tried taking a SD card from a working camera and using that in the brick?
Don’t format it, Just make sure the firmware is on the root.

Boy this is a stubborn problem. If not resolved perhaps ask Wyze for a replacement since it was bricked by their update.

Yes - I did exactly that. Then afterwards I removed the firmware and put it back into the working camera and it is ok.

Boy this is a stubborn problem. If not resolved perhaps ask Wyze for a replacement since it was bricked by their update.

The problem is that I live in the UK and I cannot see Wyze posting a replacement to me. Also, the camera is approx 3 years old so it will be out of the guarantee period ( if Wyze actually guarantee them). Proving it was the update that was responsible will be impossible.

I’ll have another go at it tomorrow.

I have 2 brand new ones that need updating as well … But I haven’t got the courage to try it until Wyze sort out what is wrong with the latest update!
