Will this help with the issue of capturing activity?? I am about to give up…it catches about 30% of activity . Maybe I just need the upgrade?
Welcome to the forum @hlstuck!
I doubt the firmware update will help with capturing activity. You have to adjust camera’s detection sensitivity and zones until you hit that sweet spot.
Hi,…I have adjusted and it’s at the most sensitive setting. It will catch a racoon once and then in the same exact spot, not catch it. Since it’s my outdoor one, its important to have that camera catch it every time…not necessarily for the racoon!
Do you have Cam Plus or Cam Unlimited? If you don’t then you have a five minute cooldown between events. I’d recommend putting an SD card and setting to continuous recording, that way you won’t miss anything.
AH! Didn’t realize the 5 min piece. I’ll put the SD card in there. I must have just the Plus. Thank you!!!
I can try to get an explanation as I do not know the technical aspects of it.
This is a phased roll out, you should see it in the coming days if you have not yet already.
As of today, I’m still on the 4.36.13.0416 from last year.
All my V3 cameras updated today, but the three V3 Pros still say 4.58.13.2340 is current.
I was one of the lucky ones that had no problems updating to that new V3 Pro firmware back in early March. Hopefully I will be lucky again when the 4.58.13.2958 hits
After testing, please let us know if you notice any bugs. I am still not being offered 4.36.14.2953.
My V3’s still haven’t updated the firmware either.
Mike
I just noticed today that there was a firmware update for my v3’s (5 of my 9 cams are v3) and I came here to make sure that it wasn’t a known buggy/problematic update before I updated.
I updated one of the cams and it went fine, maybe about 3 minutes duration or so.
Once the first one completed and seemed to be fine, I updated the other four cams all at once and so far they seem to all be operating fine again. It’s only been a few minutes but so far, so good.
I didn’t want to update manually. I’m waiting for the camera/app to say there’s a new firmware. So far… nothing. My V3 cameras are still on 4.36.13.0416. July 2024. I haven’t heard of anyone having any issues with the new firmware. Then again, not quite sure how many people have received it yet.
I updated 10 V3 cameras to the new firmware version yesterday using Android app 2.5, and so far no issues.
Hopefully the V3 Pro update goes well too.
I turned off the auto-updates on all my cameras, and update my spare V3 first just in case, but I don’t have a spare v3 Pro.
Good Luck Everyone!
Since updating the firmware, all my v3 cameras no longer have a live feed at my.wyze.com. The OG cams are still working fine, but I get the “check the internet” error on the v3 cams. This is at two different sites on two different ISPs.
They work fine in the app, but its better for me to keep a browser window open instead of an app on handheld device.
All six of my V3 cams were updated on 3 April, I just checked and all six will stream on my.wyze.com along with the V4 cams and the V3 PRO.
Totally unrelated to this topic, but you might want to check this one.
Thanks I saw it.
Aren’t you throwing your hat in the ring?
NO, I quit.
