Hi,
I have 16 cats, some of them been getting sick lately. I have a dedicated room for their litter boxes and another one for the food area.
I have a Standard v3 cam for litter boxes room and a Cam Pan v3 for the cat feeders room.
Both cameras record very short clips of 10-19 seconds only. And it’s not even like continuous small clips.
How can I get the camera to actually serve its purpose as a pet monitoring tool?
It’s no use to me to see the cat enter the room only, I need to see it actually eat or pee or poo or drink.
For this I would put a SD card in the camera and set it to continuously record. Do you need notifications of cat movement in the litter/foodroom or you are just wanting to record the action in the rooms?
I do get the notifications most of the time, I guess I’d need to put in the SD Card, you’re right.
But it’s a bit weird that having Cam Plus I only get short videos… I think Pet detection has length restriction for cloud storage, not 100% sure.
Thanks for your suggestion. I’ll have to do that until the pet detection video length for cloud is increased.
The cam plus videos are motion videos so as long as there is detection motion, the video event continues. If the subject stops or makes small movements, unless your sensitivity is maxed out. You may not catch that and the camera may think the motion has stopped. So for best results, make sure your motion sensitivity is turned up.
