Wyze Cam Pan v3 Firmware Beta Test. 10/20/2025

The release blurb sort of implies that. Beta whoops.

I am always careful, I do individual updates with any firmware, especially Beta, just in case. Then only one breaks. So far nothing broken.

Wouldn’t they announce if this update has anything to do with RTSP? I expect that might break a Pan V3.

Why an app version .781 can get firmware for only 3.85 or above is my question.

If it has, and it seems some or one was able to update their V3s with .781?

Or it slipped thru the massive AWS being down. :joy:

Is there anyway to recovery from this? I’m running android with the previously beta but is still installed the can pan v3 firmware update. Now it’s unusable. I tried flashing older firmware but that didn’t take.

Unfortunately, I’m not expert enough to advise, I’ll defer to @Crease or @@carverofchoice etc., they or others may be able to assist.

I finally gave up and flashed my 3 - v3’s back to firmware 4800 just this morning.

All 3 took it and live view is working again.

Just to be safe make sure that you remove the V3 from the beta program.

A 32 gB drive with FAT is highly recommended.

I’m now on:

How did you attempt this, and what was your experience? Two things to keep in mind:

  1. If you’re following the instructions in the Help Center article about flashing, disregard all references to “folder” and make sure you place the appropriate .bin file in the root directory of your microSD card.
  2. Use a 32 GB or smaller card formatted FAT32.

 This for sure. Every time I’ve attempted a flash with a larger card (like when I’ve grabbed a 256 GB card because that was convenient), it’s failed. Even when I force a FAT32 format onto the larger card, flash attempts have failed for me. Using a FAT32-formatted 32 GB card has led to success.

Thanks for the vote of confidence! I saw this one a while ago after @srcranford posted, but I was using my phone at the time and don’t like to do a lot of thumb-typing unless I have to. :+1:

3.8.5 got pushed out today. Go get the app update and see if that solves the streaming problem for you.

It’s a miracle - my Pan cameras are all “fixed” by the app update to 3.8.5, which I just happened to notice. But, thanks for the heads up - which I would have needed if I hadn’t checked.

I’m relieved that I can go back to using my phone and iPad as camera monitors and don’t have to waste a browser window on Web View (which was the only way I could see my four pan cameras). Phew!
