I just downloaded app 3.8.1.718 today, is another, 3.8.5 coming out later? Or just a typo? Or maybe I’m just confused.

Be careful with this. I just broke my 3 - - CP v3’s.
To much going on today and I missed the requirement for the app to be at 3.8.5, which is not on Google Play yet. I’m on 3.8.1 and I installed this firmware and it broke live view on all 3 of my v3’s. I haven’t been able to recover with the usual cache clearing, reboots etc and even a reinstall on one.
Be careful.
I’ll just wait a couple of days and hopefully the 3.8.5 app appears and fixes it.
I don’t usually install β firmware on production devices (and I’m mostly using the production app), but I appreciate your taking the time to post the warning. I hope it’s something that can be recovered with a future update.
I just missed it. Coming off covid with a subsequent sinus infection. Day four on antibiotics and then Amazon had to have a major meltdown and the better half started to question me, (go figure after 38 years). ![]()
Take care of yourself. I’m a proponent of intranasal saline irrigation for sinus stuff, for whatever that’s worth.
Navage machine😅
Whatever works. I’ve also used a neti pot and a squeeze bottle. ![]()

Back on topic, I noticed Wyze app 3.8.5 Beta Test 10/16/2025 a few days ago, but the app versions listed in that don’t seem to match:
I dunno what’s up with that. ![]()
I think I’ll hold off installing this firmware release for a few days. ![]()
Just make sure u have 3.8.5. Im checking a dozen times a day, now that I’ve screwed up 3 cameras. ![]()
I’m running 6 different Wyze app versions on various phones and tablets. 4.50.15.4956 shows as available to me only on 3.8.5.x app versions. But I’ll still wait a while to install and test.
I just don’t have time to mess with botched firmware installations on CPv3 cams at the moment, even though I have a bunch of them running. I’ll try later this week.
Interesting. When did you get 3.8.5. What kinda threw me is if you read the release notes the firmware should have only been offered if you have 3.8.5. That appears to be your case. I was offered it on 3.8.1 and like a dummy I accepted it.
Oh well. The v3’s are not critical. They basically watch the dog. Hopefully Google play posts it shortly.
4 days ago, last Thursday. There are version number typos in the beta announcement: Wyze app 3.8.5 Beta Test 10/16/2025
Yeah, that’s really thrown me, and from reading this I guess I’m not the only one. How do those get fixed? @mention @WyzeAndy in the announcement topic?
I try not to edit posts made by Wyze staff unless a correction is time-sensitive. I notified them of the errors. The post will get corrected. ![]()
I believe that’s called restraint. If I had mad Moderator powers, I’d be tempted to update tags all over the place. ![]()
Cam Pan V3 failed to connect in app after latest Beta FW
I did a Beta FW update last night and since then I have not been able to connect to my Cam Pan V3 cameras. This is affecting all 3 of them.
I get a failed to connect error Code -5003
I have power cycled them, reconnected them to the wifi and reset services . Also rebooted phone, cleared cache etc…
I can connect to them and view them on the browser. Just not in my android app.
App (android) version 3.8.1(718)
Camera FW version 4.50.15.4956
phone is S25+
[Mod Note]: Your topic was merged to this Beta announcement topic for better visibility to Wyze.
Please refer to the Note in 1st post by Wyze:
Not sure if updating your app will help at this point, but it’s worth a try.
You fell into the same trap I fell into. Prerequisite is app 3.8.5. It appears some folks have it. It has not appeared on Google Play for me.
Hopefully when we get it the v3’s will fix themselves.
Fingers crossed ![]()
You would think that it would do an app version check before it offered the new FW version….
