Wyze Cam OG cannot connect to router

I have all different types of Wyze cameras from V2 all the way to V3 Pro and OG. After moving and re-plugging in my router (so, same SSID/Password/Etc), the OG’s refuse to connect The others all work fine. It will say “network connected”, and the app will say it’s trying to connect to the cloud. It will then say “network disconnected please try again” and then say “Cannot connect to local network”. I’m using the latest app. All my other cameras are working fine. I’ve done a factory reset (and it says “reset to factory settings” with the SD Card removed). This is just insanely frustrating wasting time on these cameras. I’m doing this while sitting right next to my router, so that’s not it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome @ddman11

Could be the location in which you put the Router. Have you tried moving the OG camera closer to see if that is the issue? Interference, Distance, walls, etc could impact connectivity.

Can you let us know which Router you are using, some have an optimize option which will resync connected devices and potentially move them to the best Router. In addition, it would check the WiFi channels and make adjustments as well.

Is this a Mesh Network? How Many Satellite Routers do you have, if any?

Last line of my post:
“I’m doing this while sitting right next to my router, so that’s not it.”

Not a mesh router. All other cameras EXCEPT the OG’s are working, and they previously worked fine on the same router/network/setup just in a different physical house.

Sometimes in the past with stubborn IoT devices I’ve resorted to disabling every radio/SSID on my network except for the 2.4 GHz radio on the main gateway/router/wireless access point. I’ve even turned off mobile data on my phone to force the phone onto that specific 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi that I’m trying to connect the device (camera, bulb, plug, switch) to. I’d consider trying something like that to see if your Cam OG will complete its setup/connection. If you can get it connected, then you should be able to enable your other radios/SSIDs as before.

My Apologies, missed that sentenced.

Is it the same Internet provider?

Don’t have a firm reason why the OG would be the only camera having issues. Have you tried, rebooting the router and trying again?

@Crease @carverofchoice @R.Good - Any of you have any suggestions on what to try?

Just did. :point_up::grin::man_shrugging:

I think rebooting the router is a good idea. Sometimes when I’ve seen a camera or other device offline, I’ve just restarted the 2.4 GHz radio on the gateway, and occasionally that has “refreshed” things so that the camera can grab a connection. I don’t know which router or ISP @ddman11 is using, but AT&T puts that (Restart buttons for each radio) on the main page of the gateway’s Web interface, so that’s one of the easiest things to try with that equipment.

Welcome to the Forum, @ddman11!

You must have been responding when I tagged you.

Rebooting works for me, but I use a TPLink Mesh Network with no issues.

Thanks for the reply,
