Wyze app update changed notification sound

Ever since I updated the Wyze app yesterday on my Samsung phone, push notifications from all my cameras that notify me of motion changed the sound. They changed from the default Wyze sound (Wyze sound 1) to my Samsung’s default notification. In the app it still shows the sound that I want (Wyze sound 1) is checked, but that will not play. It just refuses to play the sound that I want. Anybody else ever had this, or know how I can fix it?

Maybe take a look at this?

I don’t use Samsung’s Android variant, but that post links to some additional information that might be helpful.

It’s weird, when doing that I don’t even have the option to make it any sounds from the Wyze app. It’s like the update completely took that option away.

What about @spamoni’s suggestion in the post linked from the quote above? I’ll link it here again:

Does enabling that show you what you need to see when you check Android’s App info screen for the Wyze app?

Since I use Google and Motorola devices, the Android variants I have are near stock and won’t show the same options you’re likely to see with Samsung’s modifications, but maybe @spamoni can provide some better input as a Samsung user since he’s been @‍mentioned here.

I have an S24 Ultra and it does seem updates have changed sounds if I recall, and I may not.

I use custom sounds in the notification categories. I’d try a restart or selecting another sound like Wyze 2, save then, switch it to 1 and save. Never tested this, so…

None of the options listed worked for me. I just had to download the Wyze sound to my phone and set it as the notification sound through my phone settings. Oh well.
