Can't change wyze sound options (I did search first)

Samsung Galaxy A54 5G.
One Ui version 6.1
Android version 14
Wyze version 2.50.9.512 …because it works the best, though far from perfect.

On the wyze Account screen I click Notifications, then Push Notifications, then Notification sound.

System Default sound plays and notifies (Synth Brass) for EVERYthing :frowning:

Wyze Sound 1 plays, the Save Changes button is available (not grayed out) but after clicking Save Changes wyze still notifies with the System Default.

…Wyze Sound 2 plays and sounds very similar to Wyze Sound 1 but the Save Changes button is grayed out…can’t change anything.

Wyze Sound 3 plays and the Save Changes button is available (not grayed out) but after clicking Save Changes wyze still notifies with the system default.

Mercy? Please? How can I get a different notification sound just only for the wyze app? Thank you for any help.

Instead of changing it in the wyze app, change it in your phone’s notification options. On my phone (android) I long press the notification and I can change the sound there.

Where in your phone do you long press notifications?
Are you referring to Settings?
Notifications for what part of the phone?
For the wyze app? Or some other system sound?
I’ve used the settings search and looked for notification sounds and looked for a way to change the notification sound for wyze all over in the phone. Nothing changes the wyze notification sound.

FTR, I tried the alleged solution in another post by un-tagging every camera from CPL and then restarting the phone and then going back and re-tagging every camera to CPL but it didn’t fix anything.
I also tried disabling notifications for all my cameras one by one, restarting the phone, and then going back and re-enabling all my cameras, but that didn’t fix anything.

When you get a notification, in your phone’s notification shade, long press the notification.

Here’s a notification. You’d long press this:

It should bring up something like this:

Click that gear icon and it’ll bring you to the notification options for wyze. You can pick the sound from there.

What is “this?” Do you mean the Internet highlighted in pink?

This is what my wyze looks like on my version 2.50.9.512…

Pull down your notification shade when you get a notification from Wyze.

Long press on the wyze notification you received (circled in red)

Then click this gear icon circled in red

You should see the options for sound

I long-pressed the Event clip but it just played as usual and there is no settings symbol. Maybe someone else will try to help who’s familiar with version 2.50.9.512. Thanks anyways.

What towelkingdom is trying to say is… it’s not the Wyze app, it’s your A54’s Android settings. There are many ways to access these settings all achieving the same goal. towelkingdom’s method is the fastest, but the following may be better suited for your phone and also how I set custom Wyze app notification sounds on my A54:

  1. Go into your phone’s settings > Notifications > Advanced Settings > Manage notification categories for each app > toggle ON

  2. Go into your phone’s settings > Apps > Wyze > Notifications > Notification categories. For each item in the list, tap on the title/name (not toggle) > Sound > select your notification sound preferences.

I never said to long press the event clip in the app. I said to long press the notification your phone receives in its notification shade.

Since you mention using Android 14 on a Samsung device, you may need to take this additional step in order to get a custom sound to work:

Although others have provided instructions for navigating to your Wyze app’s notification settings, this is how I do it:

  1. Long-press the Wyze app icon in your launcher (phone’s home screen) or list of applications.
  2. Tap App info in the pop-up menu.
  3. On the App info screen, tap Notifications.
  4. On the resulting screen, tap whichever WyzeMessage entry is indicating that it’s sending you the most frequent notifications.
  5. On the WyzeMessage screen, tap Sound (it may say “App provided sound” at this point).
  6. Navigate to and select your preferred/custom sound.
  7. Test by generating an event.
