Since you mention using Android 14 on a Samsung device, you may need to take this additional step in order to get a custom sound to work:

Thanks for posting that, I believe I know what the issue is and it is not Wyze. Android introduced a Notification Category so individuals could standardize things over all. you need make sure the setting for Manage Notification categories for each app is selected. The image below is from my Samsung device, not sure if it is named the same on all Android device. Although others have provided instructions for navigating to your Wyze app’s notification settings, this is how I do it:

1. Long-press the Wyze app icon in your launcher (phone’s home screen) or list of applications.
2. Tap App info in the pop-up menu.
3. On the App info screen, tap Notifications.
4. On the resulting screen, tap whichever WyzeMessage entry is indicating that it’s sending you the most frequent notifications.
5. On the WyzeMessage screen, tap Sound (it may say “App provided sound” at this point).
6. Navigate to and select your preferred/custom sound.
7. Test by generating an event.
